A new hope.

He delivered a wonderful speech, full of hope and promise of a Philippines moving forward.

Though what stuck to my mind was the use and abuse of Wang-wangs. Hehehehe. I really look forward to seeing this implemented.

And oh, though I disliked Charice's gown, I L-O-V-E how she sang our National Anthem!

HumanMetrics test

I took the HumanMetrics Test and this was the result:

ENFJs are the benevolent 'pedagogues' of humanity. They have tremendous charisma by which many are drawn into their nurturant tutelage and/or grand schemes. Many ENFJs have tremendous power to manipulate others with their phenomenal interpersonal skills and unique salesmanship. But it's usually not meant as manipulation -- ENFJs generally believe in their dreams, and see themselves as helpers and enablers, which they usually are.

Lifestyle Design

I am currently reading about Lifestyle Design and so far it has kept my interest (I'd rather read this than about apidexin you know!). Just what is lifestyle design? Lifestyle design as per Google (hehe) is the design of one's ideal lifestyle, especially an unconventional one, providing good opportunities for personal growth, leisure and adventure. Detailed methods include: career planning, entrepreneurship and travel.

I came across this website called WhatKate and it is a good read. This is what I have gotten so far...

There are other good reads about Lifestyle Design. Hope you find time to read about it too and maybe it could change the way you live your life!

Gem of a Blog: Live the Charmed Life

I came across this website called Live The Charmed Life and wow, I became an instant (and avid reader). I love the contents of the blog, such as the 100 Ways to Be Elegant.

Well actually, I love all the blog entries. I hope you visit this site. I must say you'd pick a thing or two. I love her vision, something I share with her.

Books I Want

Here are books I added in my Wishlist:

Books by Victoria Moran:

The Gospel According to Coco Chanel

And of course, Apartment Therapy's Big Book of Small, Cool Spaces. My MUST-HAVE book!

I emailed National Bookstore requesting for these books. We'll see if they can accommodate my special orders. Crossing fingers now!

EDIT:
It's Thursday now and I still haven't heard from National Bookstore. I am really eagerly awaiting for their reply! I just hope that they answer me soon (I'm not asking for the stars or online printing here, ok) so that if they can't then I will just look for other ways to have these books. If all else fails, then I guess either I wait or I just go ahead and by via Amazon or Barnes & Noble.

Uncluttering Your Finances

Just want to share these tips on uncluttering your finances. I got this from one of my favorite sites: Unclutterer
  1. Be clear on your goals as a family. Open and honest communication with all family members is important because if one person is not convinced of the family’s financial plan, those plans can be sabotaged by overspending and ignoring the budget.
  2. Avoid social competition. As you make your budget for the extras your family would like, consider why you want what you want. Make sure you are not making spending choices based on what you think someone in your income bracket and your neighborhood should have, but choose extras you want and would enjoy. As soon as you start spending to keep up with your friends and neighbors, you have stopped focusing on your family’s needs and wants
  3. Consider your family before making a purchase. Always keep your family budget in mind before you make a purchase that has not been accommodated for in the budgeted. This also goes back to the previous point about why you are making the purchase — is it a purchase that is good for the whole family? Consider the impact of an impulse off-budget purchase on your family’s savings and goals (I mean, do you really need that Orlando vacation?).
  4. Hold regular family budget meetings. It is not enough to create a family budget, you have to also maintain and monitor it to make sure it is achievable and accurate. This can be done at a regular family meeting, where you also discuss how each member feels about the budget and the spending, and whether they can see room for improvement, or suggest a change of direction.

Read the comments also since there are a couple of good suggestions as well. Hope you learn something!

Kids at Home

My nephew spent the afternoon/evening with us here at home. It was crazy!!!!!!! Kids shouting, flinging things everywhere, arguments on what DVD to watch. Plus, I run everywhere to chase them and keep them from flinging object that may break some furniture! This "work out exhausted me far more than when I use treadmills in our gym (which is by the way, undergoing maintenance). Craziness, I tell you!

Is this a glimpse of what it is to have two kids at home? I'm gonna be insane, hahaha!

Touring the DMCI Projects in Taguig

I accompanied my Aunt to check out the DMCI Developments in the Taguig area, and I must say that I got  all the more inspired to do some enhancements for our home. The units were smaller than ours but somehow their designs compensated the lack of space. They look so put together but still so comfy and home-y.

The 3-bedroom tandem unit: Modern Asian design
Second Bedroom
Would you believe this is the helper's quarters...
Nice common bathroom
I really love this blue color...
It reminds me of the color I wanted for my foyer's blank wall...

Anyways, since it was a hot day, I decided to "break-in" my latest addition to my wardrobe: the floral-print "dress" and my Oxfords/brogues/whatever.

Max's Eat All You Can Chicken

My brother was all too happy when he chanced upon the promo while it was still not yet extensively promoted. Knowing him, I'm sure he scarfed down a lot of them chickens! Hahaha. Must try this one of these days.

I mentioned this to my husband and he is still hoping he'd be able to experience this before the promo expires. *Sigh* I'm crossing my fingers too because I know eating at Max's is always fun with my husband around. We get to eat more, hahaha. And we don't even bother checking out apidexin to counter our excessive eating habits. Oh well.

Prayer Before Meals

I'm so proud of my little girl. Just want to share this little bit of info about her...

Before eating our daily meals, she comes up to me and says, Mama, pray!!! Yes, I am sometimes guilty of eating without praying before meals. But my little girl always reminds me to thank God for the food that is before us. And so we pray...
Sometimes she even gets the small figurines of the baby Jesus and place them on the dining table. She follows me when praying, even though she couldn't pronounce all the words.

Then she makes the sign of the cross and shouts... "Eating time!!!"

Gotta love her.

Prada Vitello Shine Tote in Amaranto

It may be looong time before I get my hands on a really nice designer but this thought does not stop me from appreciating and wishing for a lovely one (better than checking abt electronics coupons, you know). Here's another one from Prada that I am liking...

I am crazy over satchel bags right now. the comfort of using the strap when you are tired of carrying it is just wonderful for me. That's why I love my MMJ Hillier bag. Anyways this Prada bag is the same color as the Saffiano and Tessuto bag that I salivated over last year.

Yeh, I think my next bag purchase (gulp, 25 million years from now?) must be a deep red maroon-ish number. If this color will be used for the Vitello Hobo (priced at a "more affordable" tag of $995), I'm dead. Hahahah!

Trip to Tiendesitas

I woke up (late) today and the first thing that came to mind was the mirrored console I wanted. I thought about that little shop in Tiendesitas (Bella Decorare) we checked out before and decided I'd pay it a visit again. We were supposed to get a mirrored console before but they didn't have the size I wanted.

Anyways, I first thought it would be a bad time to go since it's hot and Tiendesitas has no aircon, but then I was really bent on going so off we went. I mean it is better to do this than be online and set up a sell merchant account right?

Unfortunately, the shop was gone. I googled and got a contact number. Too bad, they really closed shop. Oh well. I just looked around and found a furniture maker that had experience in making mirrored furniture. Yay, right? Well, to be honest I was bummed by the price, but it is still much lower than what Designs Ligna has quoted me. We'll see. Oh, I'm also choosing what the final design would be, because I am liking this too...

Again, we'll see. Like what the husby said, it depends on our budget. Hehehe.

These new loot didn't dent our budget though...
Love love love these two new additions. The only thing missing is this...

Riiiigggggghhhhhhttttt?

Hahahaha. I'm still hoping though that I'd have my hands on this beauty. Someday. If that's the case, bye bye console and dining table. Hahaha!

Happy Father's Day!

To all the fathers in the world, happy father's day!

To my husband,

Thank you for being such a wonderful father to our daughter. You have been a very attentive father to her. You have tirelessly taken care of our daughter during those times when I am unable to do so. Sometimes I feel that you do a better job at parenting than I do. Her welfare is very much your priority. This is why I can never thank you enough for loving our daughter the way you do. I know that with you as her father, she will be in very safe and secure hands, and that she will have a bright and happy future that is full of love coming from the two of us. I am very proud and very fortunate for having you as my other half when it comes to raising our lovely daughter.

Happy Father's Day Papa Enrique.

Reunited

My group of really close friends had a gathering last night and boy it was a truly fun evening, something we should do on a regular basis. Aside from the usual lively conversation (about married life and how to lose weight, among others, good food and booze, we got to play Tekken 6, thanks to our hosts's to-die-for gaming system. Yep, really really lovely one. It made me want to buy a gaming console too, hahaha. But anyways, aside from the fun time, it was a special moment for me because I was reunited at last with one of my best friends...

Meet Tequila Rose, my long lost best buddy.

Hehehe. You know, if I am not driving, I probably downed this whole bottle. Hahhaha. Just kidding. But hey, before anyone berates me for drinking and driving... I sobered up before we called it a night (hmmm, do you still call 1:30 "night" hehehe!). My fingers, especially my thumbs are sore though, thanks to playing Tekken.

Anyways, I look forward to our next gathering. Really, this should be regular again, like old times!

I Saw Ji Hoo!

categories:
For those of you who don't know, Ji Hoo is one of the lead characters of Boys Over Flowers.

Anyways, here's the story:

My family had a surprise birthday party for my Uncle at Crowne Plaza. While waiting for our car to go home, a group of biggie security guards positioned themselves. We were wondering who the personality or personalities who will come. I jokingly told my brother to ready his camera. Unfortunately, one of the guards saw us and he smiled at us and signalled that cameras our not allowed. We got more intrigues by this. By that time too, a group of women were already gathered just a few meters away from the lobby where we were.

Then after some time, a Korean guy entered the hotel. He was looking down, THEN HE LOOKED AT ME. I saw the whole face, and I am 100% sure that it was Ji Hoo (Kim Hyun Joong in real life). I was too stunned but immediately thought... wait, could Gu Jun Pyo (Lee Min Ho) be here too???? Unfortunately no. It wasn't the Boys over Flowers gang, but Ji Hoo's band mates that walked after him.

He is really good looking. Delicate features but my oh my, really really good looking. And his figure ain't that bad too. I guess he regularly works out and uses a dip bar. Hehehe. But more importantly, I will not forget our moment when he looked at me. We had a moment, you know. Hahahha.

My sister was crazy jealous she was screaming (with some curses too hahaha) when I told her.

Props to Crowne Plaza though for their strict policies - no cameras, no shouting and calling, no frenzy. No wonder they are the international celebrities' choice hotel when staying here.

I may not be able to get Apartment Therapy's latest book on small spaces, so I am really looking forward to grabbing myself a copy of Real Living's book on Small Space Solutions.

Hope it is packed with ideas on how to design and organize a compact home like ours. And I also hope it will touch on home office, because as you know I am a bit fixated about having my own home office (but with prettier office furniture supplies).

Can't wait!

I want this.

Unfortunately (and fortunately for my husby), I cannot find this online. Ack.
