Sweet Couple

Just saw an FB post from my Aunt that my Uncle asked her to marry again... Awww. isn't that sweet! I really love seeing couples (especially if they are my relatives) still having that spark, that romance that keeps the marriage/partnership/commitment/whatever you call it ball rolling. It got me teary-eyed actually. I just commented that I hope I get invited to their second wedding hahaha. I thought about presenting myself to be a bridesmaid and wear those lovely dessy bridesmaid dresses but I think that's too much hahaha.

But seriously, I really hope that in the next decade or so, my husband would still feel that if he had to do it all over again, I'd be the one he wants to marry. How about me, would I feel the same way too? Well, I have no doubt in my mind, heart, and soul that I would still choose to marry my Enrique. Only person who'd make me think twice is my beloved Mike S. hahaha but I guess that's not an option right? He's my parallel universe thing after all. Hahaha. How Fringe-y.

Sigh. I love those romantic moments. And I'm happy that amid difficult times, there still are married couples who choose to stay married not only because of choice or decision but also because they feel the love. Yes, not exactly "The Road Less Travelled" thing, but that's just the romantic me. Yes, love - it is a decision. But I also think romance and real feelings of love make the decision much easier and the lifetime of partnership much fun, exciting, and "kilig."

So honey, I know you are reading my blog. Hope you get what I'm trying to say. I love you. And if you ask me again ten years from now to marry you, if you feel that same feeling the first time you met me, you know what my answer will be...

Of course I will marry you.

Not unless Mike S. knocks at my door and asks me to marry him.

*Toink*

Just joking. Love you honey. You know you're my only one. Walang iwanan, remember?

Clearer Skies

I previously blogged about my acne breakout woes, and I'm happy to say that after three weeks, with once a week derma visit, my skin is beginning to clear up!

No makeup here, just filters in Instagram hahahaha

My problem area actually is the chin part. The left cheek has a small pimple but it's now flat. It's just red but hopefully this will be gone soon. :)

What did my derma do? My regimen was composed of these:

Every visit:
  • Steaming, washing, etc. - the usual facial thing but no pricking. My derma learned it when she tried a few and I told her that I haven't tried that before. Virgin skin daw ako ahahahaha. She then stopped.
  • Steroid injections - not sure what this is really called but it flattens the pimples, especially those cysts that are much painful. These injections are a bit uncomfortable but they are tolerable.
  • Photodynamic Laser Therapy - according to Mayoclinic.com: "This therapy combines topical medications and light-based therapies. During treatment, a medication, called a photosensitizing agent, is applied to your skin to enhance the effects of light therapy. This is followed by blue, red, pulsed light or another type of light therapy." This is kinda expensive but I think it's worth it.
At home:
  • BPO wash (It's a wash with Benzoyl Peroxide, I think) twice a day
  • Erythromycin liquid - this kinda dried up my skin and reddened it but now my skin is beginning to adapt to it
  • Iso-tretinoin gel - this dried up my skin and reddened it even more but after a week, my skin was getting better. Twice a day too.
  • Lightening cream - helps ease the reddening. Twice a day.
  • My own moisturizer - to ease the dryness.
Yes, chemicals I know. I am not really comfortable using chemicals but drastic times call for drastic measures. Hahaha.

My skin isn't the same as before, but I really hope that it will get better and would go back to its old self (at least close to it). I never experienced these kinds of stubborn pimples and acne situation, so I know for sure I can't deal with this myself. This was the first time I've experienced prolonged stay of pimples (they used to come and go for just two days, one at a time, you know). It's caused by stress I guess, and natural aging (hahaha). But I think it's about time that I take care of it seriously.

I'm not saying the trip to the derma will be once a week after my skin cleared, but maybe once a month I'd have those facials. Yup, this is me talking. Hahaha. I'm seeing the benefits anyways and loving the feeling after, so I guess this can be added to my list of rituals. :)

Surprise Gift to Hubby

My hubby has a new toy....
I surprised him with this one... he didn't think I'd get it for him, hahahaha. I really felt sorry for him and his dying old laptop, so I mustered up all my resources (how dramatic) and got him one. Besides, he was doomed anyway. At least ever since he started using my Macbook, I knew that secretly he wanted one.

Hehehe. Hello, graphics-wise, aesthetically, and overall feel, he couldn't deny the fact that Apple products are the best (hahaha, fangirl ba ang dating?). It is however harder to convince him to get an iPhone. Even if I bombard him with the benefits of having one, showing off all the wonderful features, he just wouldn't budge. But it's ok. Soon he'll want one. I know it hahahah.

I just have to wait patiently. Besides, I'm thinking of getting something else for him next time... More fun than serious. I'm talking about the the new psp. Hehehe. Blame it on our Misibis trip, I suddenly want a game console for us.

Anyways, I'm glad the hubby is happy with my gift. He loves it. It's the first thing he tinkers with in the morning, it's the last thing he puts down at night. Love you my dear hubby! Only the best for you. :)

The heat is on they say! But this summer is really one hot b*itch, you know!

Luckily we have a little balcony with small plants. This is one space I am thankful for every summer. Especially during those really hot nights. Yup, we do not have a central aircon in our little condo home, but it was by choice. We still get a small breeze but still, sometimes the heat gets tooooo much my head aches. Hahaha.

Anyway, I'm just here lounging in our balcony with my laptop in tow, a really nice glass of cold water, and the latest copy of Mtero Home & Entertaining.

I don't usually get Metro Home but it was the only available home magazine in the supermarket. Plus, it has a really nice headline: "Manila's Most Stylish Condos." Of course that caught my eye. I leafed through it briefly and I must say that I liked it. So far. The mag featured Acqua Livingstone residences by Missoni Home. Bitin yung pics!

The last Metro Home mag I got was last year:

Yes, I only get their issues that have "Condo" as their headlines. Hahaha, so sue me. Love the latest issue though.

That's it for tonight.

Gotta finish cooking our dinner.

Bicol Express.

Ironic, huh? :P

My New Longchamp Baby

Finally it's here....
It's my Mary Katrantzou x Longchamp Le Pliage in Small Short Handle, and I love it!

Originally I wanted the next bigger size but when I saw it, I felt that it was rather too big for my taste. My only fear was that the small might be too small (it is smaller than the size of my Tree of Life Longchamp - not sure if that was medium or large). Check it out here in the Longchamp website.

Thank goodness it's just the right size (not too big, not too small). It probably would've been nicer if it were a tad bit bigger, but I'm not complaining. I think the design is much better suited for the small version. :)

Super love. Thank goodness it's here with me. Advance birthday gift of hubby, hahahaha. Thanks to you, love love love you my husband! xoxoxo

Early Sunday Tidbits

Woke up early today and I suddenly missed blogging so here I am, hahaha.

Anyway, there are a couple of things in my mind so I'll just ramble away.

MY CURRENT OBSESSION
I really really like this bag ever since I saw this early this year. Now it has hit Philippine shores so I can't wait till I get hold of this!

STRESS @ WORK
Yes, I've been very stressed with and at work lately. Too many things going on, too many difficult scenarios (aka people) to deal with, too many too many-s. I know I just came back from Misibis but I feel like all the knots that were un-knotted during our vacay got all tangled up again hahaha. I'm thinking of activities that will help me de-stress on a regular basis.

STRESS-BUSTERS
Maybe it's about time that I go back to doing yoga. Aside from it being a major de-stresser, I guess I need to do this to at least tone my body. I will never go back to my old physique but I also shouldn't allow myself to balloon like crazy.

I'm also thinking about taking up new music-related lessons. Been dreaming lately about taking up guitar lessons. Thanks to "Pride" by U2, I got inspired.

BREAKOUTS
Been having really bad breakouts for more than a month already so I decided to go to the Derma and had my face checked. Last Saturday was the second time I went, and so far things things are getting clearer. If there's one thing that I am vain about (the most at least), it is my facial skin. Never had a problem with it till now. It's like my skin revolted and suddenly my pores erupted like volcanoes. Will have a separate post about my experience about facials and all. Short tidbit: me no like-y extractions. First time I experienced it, and soooo not worth the pain. Hahaha. That is me exaggerating, but I guess beggars cannot be choosers.

That's it for now!

Misibis Bay Part 2

Yes, so sorry I know I was supposed to complete my Misibis bay posts, but I kinda lost steam... I guess I got too saturated with all the pictures, stories, and conversations I had with both friends and relatives.

I guess I just have to compensate with a few more pictures...

Anyway, here are the things I thought of (to shorten my posts):

  • this place really is heaven
  • food tastes really good but I still find the prices too steep.
  • lots of things to do though you really have to set a budget for the motorized activities and trips (Sunset cruise, cave explorations, etc...)
  • people are really friendly there
  • floors in the villa are really slippery when wet
  • it would be nice if there are trash bins around the place
  • hopefully there will be a rest room in the beach area. had to go all the way to your villa if you need to go to and take a leak hahaha
  • you should request for the Bicol Express for lunch (it's free if you have their buffet)
  • love the ice candy they give around during the day
  • hobie cat ride is the bomb. love love love.
  • Mayon volcano will take your breath away. Sunset cruise is highly recommended
I will go back to this place. If you guys have the budget, then this place is a must-go-to place!

Beauty Peg: Louis Vuitton's Spring/Summer 2012

I just fell in love with Louis Vuitton's Spring/Summer 2012 Collection. Most of all, the looks of each of the models...

Peg ko yan this summer! Hahahaha.

I got this headpiece already in Powerplant, so all that's left is to clear my skin and rid my face of the eruptions happening. yes, my skin is revolting. Derma said it is probably hormonal but I don't care. They have to go.No matter how painful or expensive it takes. yes, I'm vain like that, at least for my skin. Sorry, the feeling is back. AS I've said, I'm not used to this kind of problem so forgive me if I really rant about it.

Anyways, going back to the main topic. Yes, I love this look. I'm even tempted to try those lash extension stuff. My staff had those on and she looked amazing! Maybe I should try that. Makeup is minimal so I guess I have those in my stash.

But other than the runway looks, I really like the color palette used. Soft pastels. I'm not the pastel-y type of girl but this collection pulled me. I love it. Now I'm into those mint green polishes and coral-y ones. This is reflected in the nail polish colors that I'm wearing for the past few weeks.

Orly Jealous Much and Essie Tart Deco are my current fave nail polishes aside from the Royal Navy of Butter London and my ever trusty Chanel Dragon).

Here are the details I love....

Misibis Paradise (Part 1)

I needed a good and luxurious vacation badly after unpleasant incidences in the office, and our Misibis vacation plan was really just on time. I don't have to say much about Misibis except that this place is heaven!

It is on the pricier side, but I tell you, for me, it was worth it. I even dare say that my experience there is much better than in Boracay! That or I must be getting old, because I really appreciated the fact that the place was really relaxed and serene. I loved their pool - it was kid-friendly and I had no worries about Eanna swimming by herself (with me of course, watching her!).

We were warmly welcomed by the people - I love them! They were so friendly, warm, and accommodating. Best of all, I really felt their sincerity.
THE ROOM
Let me start with the villa where we stayed. It was spacious, clean, and simple. Yep, simple but it was elegant!
I love this bay window - the sleeping area of Eanna. This was a stolen shot - I looked funny because I was smiling by myself. Hahahaha. Looney or googoogaga over the place!
The bathroom was very spacious, I wished I had a bathroom as big as that!
I really am easy to please. I love the bathroom! Only concern was the tiles can be slippery, so you gotta be careful. It would have been nice if good flooring was used, such as use of a mannigton laminate perhaps? love the bethroom nonetheless!

AROUND MISIBIS
Words cannot express the beauty o the place. So here are some pictures....

Constellation

I feel so depressed right now. Well, I've been this way for weeks now. Why? Because my face looked like the heavenly skies. I've got constellations going on, and I can't deal with it! Not to be meant as a humble brag, but really this is the first time I'm experiencing this. So it seems they are correct... Having a pimply face really does get you down and insecure. I don't even want to look at myself right now.

I changed toothpaste, changed my shampoo and conditioner. Tried the Mario Badescu drying lotion but it didn't work. Now it seems like the only solution is to finally go to a dermatologist. Good thing I've got an aunt who is one, but I'm thinking of going to Dr. Huang already (last time I thought of going to her, I had a zit. One.).

But I can't go just now because this Wednesday we will be hitting the beach. Earliest I can go is on Saturday.

Ack. I really can't even. But for now, I guess I will try what my sister told me to use... head to bath stores and get myself an Ysa soap. I remember this was what she used when her face erupted too. I used this too before together with her but I didn't really know if it worked on me because back then I didn't gave this problem.

Sigh.

I do hope I get my skin back. I'm not really the type who maintains it meticulously but now, I just might start caring for it seriously.

I'm obsessed with nail polishes lately, but I am more extremely insanely obsessed with the one thing I cannot have (for now at least due to availability).

This.

I've been searching high and low here in Manila. Where do I find it? Ack.

This is insane. But I gotta have this. Soon.

Long Holiday

It's Holy Week and we have decided to just stay in, reflect, and then spring clean the house.

I was hoping for a solemn weekend (at least from Thursday to Saturday) but it seems this will not be the case, as the house seems to be as busy as a beehive. Not to mention hearing the Plants vs Zombies sound effects and all - thanks, little girl. She's all hooked up with this game (including myself - guilty as charged) that when we had a short trip to the mall before they closed, she wanted to get a Plants vs. Zombies custom t-shirt! Oh well. Hahahaha.

However, I really want this to be a relaxing one. If not relaxing, at least fun long weekend. Don't want to think about work, don't want to think about anything except having fun and enjoying the day with my family. That's what matters after all.

So here's to a meaningful weekend to all of us.
