Vogue celebrates its 120th year and what way to celebrate than to have the thickest Vogue ish to date!
That's Lady Gaga on the cover!

I know that the Sept issues of Vogue US always gets sold out, so two weeks before, I went to National Bookstore and smooth-talked the person in charge to make sure that I get to have a copy as soon as the magazines hit the stands.

True enough, I got a text last Thursday informing me that the Sept issue will be delivered Friday at 11 am. Of coure I had to trek to NBS during lunch time to get this!

It was heavy ha.

I started reading it last night, and until now I'm not yet done. Seriously. Lots of ads, but goodness, each page is eye-candy! Plus, the magazine featured a really lovely home which is an inspiration to revamp our home, and I am this close to installing indoor wall fountains hahahaha. See, fashion + a little interior design. Goes really really well.

Thank goodness I have this copy. Well well worth it. Grab yours now!

By the way, I subscribed to Vogue already, it is waaay cheaper. My colleague told me that she never had any delivery problems, so yay to that! Can't wait till i receive my first delivered issue, which is likely October or November!

The heat is on they say! But this summer is really one hot b*itch, you know!

Luckily we have a little balcony with small plants. This is one space I am thankful for every summer. Especially during those really hot nights. Yup, we do not have a central aircon in our little condo home, but it was by choice. We still get a small breeze but still, sometimes the heat gets tooooo much my head aches. Hahaha.

Anyway, I'm just here lounging in our balcony with my laptop in tow, a really nice glass of cold water, and the latest copy of Mtero Home & Entertaining.

I don't usually get Metro Home but it was the only available home magazine in the supermarket. Plus, it has a really nice headline: "Manila's Most Stylish Condos." Of course that caught my eye. I leafed through it briefly and I must say that I liked it. So far. The mag featured Acqua Livingstone residences by Missoni Home. Bitin yung pics!

The last Metro Home mag I got was last year:

Yes, I only get their issues that have "Condo" as their headlines. Hahaha, so sue me. Love the latest issue though.

That's it for tonight.

Gotta finish cooking our dinner.

Bicol Express.

Ironic, huh? :P

I got Preview's November Issue because 1) Louis Vuitton's A/W 2010 Collection is featured, thus Mad Men looks! 2) Cristine Reyes looked beautiful! 3) Check out the cover and the features seemed interesting... and they were!

So far I am loving every page of the issue, even the ads, hahaha. The Beauty awards section si amazing as well, as it featured the best products in town. Makeup, cleansers, hair products, skincare products (including acne products), body stuff, etc. The fashion spreads are also great, inspired by Mad Men of course!

Grab your copy now, you will not regret!

La Greta on Preview's July Issue

I browsed through the pages of Preview's July issue and I must say that I'm impressed!

I can't wait to read each page of the mag. Gretchen Barreto looked nearly perfect in her pictures. Sh'e so slender, her hair is so shiny, and her skin is flawless she probably doesn't need to use Acneticin. That's why I'me wondering why in "Magkaribal" she looked so... odd. Her lips area freaks the s#!t out of me.

Anyway, aside from La Greta being featured as one of the "Best Dressed" in this year's list by Preview, the mag also features the famous stylish bloggers. Grab your copy now!

Home Magazines and Yes

It's the start of the month, and one of my rituals is to buy my favorite magazines. Here are what I got so far:

Real Living - the Budget Issue
I still haven't read the magazine in depth but based on what i have browsed so far, this issue is a must-read for us home owners who want to have stylish homes without breaking our budget!

My Home - Small Spaces
I read this first and I must say that I LOVE this issue. We have a really small space and the magazine has featured small homes that are styled the way I want my home to be styled. This is definitely a must-read and my favorite issue for the year so far!

Yes Magazine - John Lloyd Cruz Special
And of course, I will not pass the opportunity to get a sneak peak at the home of my ultimate (well, maybe not) celebrity crush! I already read the cover story, and I must say their coverage was pretty much extensive. Love this issue. Oh, not only that, the issue also covers the story of the late Victor Ebarle Jr. I still do not have the heart to read it though, because I know that I might get teary-eyed.

Anyway, I guess this is enough to last me for half a month. Next batch of magazines will be about fashion: Preview and Mega. Can't wait to get my hands on them! I really love reading magazines. It would have been a perfect Gift for the bride when i got married but sadly no one gave me a subscription. Well, I didn't ask for it though hahaha.

Nesting Newbies

For those of you who haven't discovered it, Nesting Newbies is an e-zine about nesting... Home design, cooking, entertaining, etc.

I love reading their issues mainly because of their features, but also because it's free!

Here's their latest issue

Any home maker will find this e-zine very useful. Well, actually even working women out there will learn a thing or two (actually, a lot!)

So what are you waiting for? Head to their website and subscribe... now na!

Anne and Marian

For their 18th Anniversary, Mega Magazine featured two of the most beautiful actresses in the country for their double cover:

I got Anne's cover, but didn't get to see that of Marian's. Hers got sold out? Heheheh.

So, if you are to buy one, who would you choose?

Anyway, I got to browse quickly the magazine and I must say that it is jam-packed with interesting features. The clothes featured where more on cocktails still, but I'm hoping that there will be more summer outfits on the next month's issue. There was not much on accessories, specifically on jewelry (real or not), but I guess bling blings are still in. It's that time anyway where loose diamonds are still good investments - either for necklaces or for the hit "illusion" earrings where a couple of diamonds are set tightly together to look like the earring is one big solitaire.

The mag also reminded me to buy that dang Revlon lipstick worn by Jennifer Connelly. Yep, I am a red lipstick kind of girl.

Oh, and the non-fashion (but still lifestyle topics) features are good reads too, read a few of them already.

Must buy for the month, all you magazine readers. But again, which cover would you choose? Both won't disappoint!

Worth the Wait

I finally got a copy of the latest Preview Magazine last saturdya, and I must say that it was worth the wait! I would have to agree (most at least) with their Best Dressed List, although of course there are still some that I think should be part of the list. oh well, those people in mind were part of Preview's lists so maybe this batch is something new. Among the ladies though, I totally love Pam Quinones' style. Probably because if I were single I would be wearing those stuff too? Hahahaha.

Anyway, I suggest you guys grab a copy now. And if you have more moolah to get another local mag, go get Mega's latest too...
