Living / Dining Room Inspirations

While I stayed at home last week due to an illness, I thought about redesigning our living room. Yes yes, this has always been on top of our list but somehow it never pushes through. Money matters, ever-changing designs, and other things keep on getting on the way.

However, this time I am serious that by the time hubby comes home, all are set and ready for implementation.

Jonathan Adler designs are currently my pegs, thanks to the books I read, plus I guess my currently happy disposition suits his Happy Chic home.

Here are my faves:

My question though is, should we redecorate the area already knowing that there is a possibility that we will be changing our floor tiles, or do we wait?

Any which way, what we would be needing is to finalize first our color scheme then proceed with remodeling one wall (the TV side) of our living area. Then accessories galore.

Oh, I can't wait!

Summer 2012 Current Obsession

I think obsessing over Korean beauty products is part of my cycle on
Fashion -> Home Design -> Beauty

Currently I'm digging these:

Etude House MiniME World Traveler Collection Perfumed Mist Ms. Ever (Body & Hair)
The scent is floral-y fruit-y. It's not the usual scent that I get but I think it suits me. A little strong, but I'm after that stronger effect. :) Plus, the packaging is so lovely, who could resist?

Skinfood Good Afternoon Apple Cinnamon Tea BB SPF 36 PA++
Thank goodness I got this. It has a very mild but gooooood scent. It brightened my skin, which is good always. :) The coverage is quite light, so those with dark blemishes may need to use a concealer underneath. The look is really natural. love love love it. :)
Throw in some Majolica Majorca Products too...

MM Lash King - this product I totally love! It works best for both natural look and the Famous Smoke eye look. I'm a convert since I first used this. Love!
MM Blood On Lip & Cheek Gel - got this and it's one of my best buys this year. Totally love the stained effect!

Jonathan Adler Happy Home Stuff

Guess what I got today?

Yup, it's the Jonathan Adler Happy Home 5-piece Vanity Set! This is what's inside...

Found it in one of the unlikeliest place to see it (well for me at least)... HMR along Pioneer! There's a lot of stock still, and the good thing is, it is on sale! From roughly Php 800 it became PhP 490 per set. That's a steal huh!

Love the aquamarine room scent too. Love love love. Get yourself one!

A Day @ San Benito Farm, Batangas

My office buddies egged me to join them on a day trip to San Benito Farm in Batangas. Being the spa sucker that I was, of course I agreed. After much cancellations though, we finally made it. Hahaha!

The place looked like (well it actually is haha) a relaxing sanctuary for those urbanites who wanted respite from the stresses of city living. Work, quarterlife (or midlife) crisis, home issues, and traffic woes took a back seat. All I could think of was... "how I wish I'm here every weekend!" If only I had enough moolah. Hahaha. The farm reminded me of my days in the province back when I was young. The scent of the air, the warm breeze, the lush greenery.

It also reminded me what I drew back in college, Marketing class, when the teacher asked us to draw what we wanted in life ten years from now. All my classmates drew really big houses, their own businesses, drawings depicting their successful career, etc. What did I draw? A nice family of three (or was it four?) with a decently sized house by the lake, near the mountains. Ack. IS there such a place nearby? That was my dream back then. It still actually is till now.

Goodness, I'm really a provinciana by heart. Hubby is right, we must get a farm of our own, away from the urban life.

Anyway, here are some pics I took at the Farm. Sorry, I didn't take that much. I was more into feeling the moment rather than capturing each scenery but failing to be in the moment. So yeah, I was trying to be present every second of it. So, less pictures.

Had to walk going to the spa

Love the Spa reception area. Lots of comfy daybeds. Will check www.daybeds.com for inspiration for my "spa" area in our balcony hahaha

Our view while doing yoga. Heavenly bliss! Oohhhhhhmmmmmmm....

Lunch Menu - No meat.

My spa place. Big space for just me. Love it.

Bye bye time!

Will I be going back? Yup, definitely. Told the hubby already that we spend overnight or at least have a day trip here. And he agreed. Yay!

Superga Silver

Yes, I'm gaga over Superga now. Didn't get to buy myself the 2750 Camel that I wanted but managed to get the navy for me and white for Eanna. Since my feet are small, there's only the kid size for me. Hahaha.

Anyways, after the navy, I'm still hoping o get the camel color. But guess what, I'm wanting this too...

Ack. How can I get this?!?

Yes, that's all I need to get thinner, coz this is my current diet obsession...
I'm still trying to get myself a copy of the Cookbook but for now I'll settle with this.

I really hope that I'd shed a few pounds. I like the menu during the 17 days so I think this will work for me.

Wish me luck!

Current Obsession: Superga

My current obsession... The Superga Classic 2750 in Camel.

The irritating thing though is that it's not available here. At least not in Rustan's Glorietta. Will check out the Greenbelt shop.

Why do i call it obsession? Because much as I need sneakers right now, I will only want it in this color. OC to the max.

Summer Activities of Eanna

What has my little girl been doing this summer? Swimming lessons? Nope. Cooking class? Planned, but no. Arts class? Try again. Sports training? Nope. Playing with kids (knee scooter races, play ball, etc). Not even. :)

She's been having lessons on reading and Math. Yup, you read that right. My little girl has taken a very keen interest in reading so we thought of enrolling her so she could further develop her reading skills. So far, I'm very pleased with her progress. Like!

Then she takes Sakamoto Math classes too. It is different from Enopi and Kumon, and if i got that right, it is also what you call "Singapore Math" which is being introduced to schools here (not sure if Poveda uses this but hopefully they do, will check).

According to the website,
Originating from Japan, the Sakamoto Math Method is a visual approach to problem solving. It is a powerful and innovative method for solving word problems. It provides students with a simple yet systematic and structured technique to analyze questions in a logical way. Because the emphasis is on understanding of concepts and applications, and not on rote learning, it cultivates logical and creative thinking, thus improving students' skills in problem solving.
I know, I know, people say that I might burn out my kid at an early age. However, to me she is really enjoying as her "tutoring" is a mix of play and learn. If ever there are any signs of her wearing out and disengagement then I will gladly stop. So far, she loves going to the center.

Anyway, the June is right around the corner, so at least the little girl is somewhat prepared to learn. :)

American Reunion

Hubby and I spent our wedding monthsary watching "American Reunion" and I tell you, it was a blast!

Super laugh trip, a mixture of funny and gross scenes hahahaha.

This movie brought me back to my twenties, those years when I was searching for love, wondering what career path I'd take, and having a carefree lifestyle. Such wonderful years.

The anecdotes, the songs, tidbits from the previous American pie movies brought me to moments of nostalgia. Funny noh, it was a funny movie but my senti-self took over in some moments. Hahaha. Forget the curses (thanks, Stiffler!), the over-ly sexual inclinations and you will surely enjoy. Well at least I did! It was good seeing them again. All of them. :)

It is a must-watch, especially those who watched the movie before, or those who felt that this "era" (late 90's to early 2000) was their most memorable one. Yeah, I really feel that I belong to this era. Hahaha.

Staff's India Trip

I'm so excited for my team member's trip to India this mid-May. Sure, the reason for her travel is not exactly a nice thing (our processes will be migrated to our India office, huhuhuh), but all the same, I am excited for her.

I remembered the time when I first went to India. I was nervous about my trip, since I usually go to either Europe or South East Asian countries. But thank goodness, I was booked in a really nice hotel with fancy electric fireplaces in the rooms (seriously, hahaha!). Plus, my colleagues in my former company were nice and accommodating, they took me to flea markets and good restaurants.

I hope my team member will enjoy her stay there. It's her first time to leave the country (or ride a plane if I remember that fact right), so I wish her all the best!

It's one thing to be snooty in terms of taste (food, fashion, travel, etc) and opinions. But it is one thing to be rude to people who ask you simple questions.

Sayang. But it seems that a blind item about you is really true. Oh well.

Storage Space Needed

Goodness! I just realized that our household has a lot of stuff, I even wonder now how all these actually fit in our small condo! This thought arose because lately I have been checking out what our needs are at home, and see if we need more renovations (like the living room wall where initially wanted more cabinets and wall-mount our TV). That's when I knew that we completely lack storage space. Either that or we seriously need to scale down and edit our things at home.

Anyways, short of checking out warehouse and steel buildings prices (yes I know, it's an exaggeration tehehehe), I am now seriously contemplating on buying space in our roof deck. It is kinda expensive considering it is just a bare space with steel borders to delineate each "stall." However, this might just be one of the solutions. Again, this or we really need to let go of our old stuff.

Maybe condo living demands one to be simpler, to edit things, and to dispose of stuff that are no longer used. Maybe it's because we have a small condo. One thing is for sure though... I need space!

Stay-cation @ Makati Shangri-La

I desperately needed a vacation after a lot of stressful situations took place at work. However, due to tight finances and at the same time "lack of time" in planning and all, an out of town trip was not possible.

We had a stay-cation instead! :)

We just randomly decided to spend our weekend in Makati Shangri-La where I used my privilege card to avail of room and dining discounts.

As soon as we were checked in, I plopped on the bed and felt all my muscles ease up a bit. Hahaha.
Then we immediately changed clothing more suitable for relaxing by the pool...
Had dinner at Circles
As usual, my favorite appetizer...
We enjoyed our breakfast buffet the next day...
Then off we went to the pool again for a swim before checking out.

I love love love our weekend. I wish all weekends were as luxurious as this. Alas, there is an issue called finances. Hahaha.

Anyway, that's what happened this weekend. I hope you guys enjoyed yours!

It's my birthday today, and, well, yeah. It is my birthday. Just another normal day for me. I went to work, had dinner with my husband and daughter, and now about to sleep.

Yep, before I knew it, the day was over.

Only diference is that I had more than 90 greets in Facebook plus a few others via email, Instagram, and text. Had to say Thank you the same amount of greets too. :)

That's it. Moving on.
