Ski Teal We Drop

Move Over Zoya. At Least for now.

Seriously, this nail polish color by OPI is haunting me.

Look at this.

More than haunting, it is taunting me. Why? Because I don't know where to buy it locally!

ARGH.

I have found a supplier but she said the next shipment will be mid-September. Argh. Can I wait?

Argh.

Family Band

Whenever I listen to "family" bands such as the Corrs, I get envious and wish that my brothers, sister and I have formed our own band. Earlier on, we had our own expertise: my brothers were in to guitars and drums, I'm into singing and piano, and my sister, well, she can manage us. Hahaha. We used to sing and play instruments after family dinners, and boy those were really fun. We used to check out different instruments, what the best brands are (such as hartke musicians friend) in terms of showcasing our sounds. That was crazy. How I longed for those days to be back. But it's ok, I understand that we have grown up and decided to take on different paths. However, once in a while of course, I keep wishing I'd here my brother play drums again, my youngest brother play the guitar (acoustic or electric), and I play the tin whistle.

F/W 2012

Here is my complete inspiration board for F/W 2012....

F/W 2012 Inspiration Board

I think my F/W palette always looks the same, regardless of what's in, hehehe. I just love the blend of these colors: rich maroon, gold, black, teal. Throw in of course beige for fall's ever-present trench coat.

What I love though in my inspiration board are the following:

  • Temperley Gold Dress - OMG. This is LOVE. Just imagine wearing this. Goodness.
  • Tom Ford Lipstick in Black Orchid - Super rich color, use with a bare face!
  • Zoya Nail Polish in Natty - I MUST HAVE THIS.
  • Maison Francis Kurkdjian 754 Perfume - if this becomes available in Adora, I am so sold.
  • Zara Maroon Satin Pants - I almost got this last night. I probably will tomorrow.
Shoot. I forgot my hairstyle inspiration, which is this, as seen in Gucci F/W 2012.

Beauty Peg for Fall 2012

This is my beauty peg for this season...

as seen in Rochas F/W 2012

as seen in Gucci F/W 2012

I think this has always been my F/W makeup peg anyways, hahaha! Remember this in 2010?
used Revlon's Wine Not

This time though, I'd follow the naked eye look (thank goodness I got the Urban Decay Naked Palette!), plus since I have long hair, I'd do the hair in Gucci too (which I think has been a fave hairstyle of mine since high school days hahaha). The Rochas hairdo is fine too especially if I want my hair to be kept tidy on windy days. So, Fall... I'm ready for you!

Pre-Birthday Date Night

Had a date with my hubby last night...
Pa-glamour effect ba? Hahaha!

I think all married couples should spend at least once a week having dinner, watching a movie, walking, drinking, or whatever. Just the two of them. I don't know, maybe it is to compensate for those times when you just want to have those insanely romantic nights when you just stare into each other's eyes and fall madly in love again. I remember what our godfather told us before, that marriage should be fun. I guess a sprinkling of romantic dates add fun to a lifelong togetherness with your significant other. I don't know about you, but sometimes I want to up the ante too by making those date nights as glamorous as possible, dressing up and getting all dolled up even though it's just the two of you and it'll only be just two hours or even less.

Maybe I'm the type of girl who want sparkle in life. Just look at the things that draw me in. Glittery belts and shoes, sparkling clothes, champagne (sparkling wine), San Peregrino (sparkling water), etc etc. So it really isn't a surprise if in marriage and relationships, I want to see and feel the sparkle, that romantic spark, that "I can't resist" moments.

I wonder if I am alone in this, but I highly doubt I'm the only girl this crazy. Hehehe. Anyways, the night was lovely, the food was good, and my husband looked damn handsome in my eyes. :)

PS:
We had dinner at Lulu in Rockwell, after finally deciding that ok, the little girl will come along with us. Hahaha. Back to reality, noh? Not a "real" date I guess but still, it was a good night for both of us. Our dinner was really good, and will post pics and review later on. For now, what I can say is, if you haven't eaten in Lulu, go go go! :)

Vogue @ 120

Vogue celebrates its 120th year and what way to celebrate than to have the thickest Vogue ish to date!
That's Lady Gaga on the cover!

I know that the Sept issues of Vogue US always gets sold out, so two weeks before, I went to National Bookstore and smooth-talked the person in charge to make sure that I get to have a copy as soon as the magazines hit the stands.

True enough, I got a text last Thursday informing me that the Sept issue will be delivered Friday at 11 am. Of coure I had to trek to NBS during lunch time to get this!

It was heavy ha.

I started reading it last night, and until now I'm not yet done. Seriously. Lots of ads, but goodness, each page is eye-candy! Plus, the magazine featured a really lovely home which is an inspiration to revamp our home, and I am this close to installing indoor wall fountains hahahaha. See, fashion + a little interior design. Goes really really well.

Thank goodness I have this copy. Well well worth it. Grab yours now!

By the way, I subscribed to Vogue already, it is waaay cheaper. My colleague told me that she never had any delivery problems, so yay to that! Can't wait till i receive my first delivered issue, which is likely October or November!

Eanna's Party Preparations

Eanna is turning 5 in two weeks time, and though initially I didn't want to have a big party for her (gotta save save save), I guess both hubby and I couldn't resist throwing our darling girl a party. It's going to be very simple indeed... Party at mcDonald's! The obvious theme is Disney Princesses Theme, as she requested for this when I asked her months ago what she wanted for her birthday (when I wanted to throw her a party).

Will probably just get the cake from Goldilock's

Again, nothing too grand. We'll get there when she's 7. Hahaha!

Long Weekend part 2

Ok, so here's the official post. Hehehe.

My parents invited us to to join them over the long weekend at Canyon Cove in Nasugbu Batangas. We've been here a couple of times, and it is a good place to stay, with a nice shoreline plus a big pool for those who don't want to hit the beach.

It was a bit stormy, but nonetheless, the rains didn't stop us from enjoying our swim. In fact, we enjoyed it (a little too much) when rain indeed poured hard!

Look at the view from our balcony. Scary rains...
Of course, the little girl enjoyed...
While the oldies loved the camera. Hahahaha.

We had dinner at Dalampasigan, a famours resto nearby. This is a must go to resto when in the area!
The next day, the rains continued
But it still did not stop everyone from swimming!

*Sigh*

I love these kinds of weekends. Just spending time with the family, laughing, enjoying the food, enjoying nature, and enjoying the beach. I really wish we have a beach house. You know, relaxing away from the fat-pace life in the city. Wouldn't it be truly a wonderful life if after a hard week's work, comes weekend bliss.

Another blog post to follow!

Eanna Ballerina & Degas

After a couple of cancellations, Eanna's ballet classes resumed today. The teachers have yet to advise when the makeup classes will be, so at least that's currently being taken care of.

What's good to know this morning was that Eanna's movements are getting better, and shall I say graceful. I really want to capture her in action via painting, but alas, it's been a long time since I last tapped my artistic side.

Probably I will try one of these days to get me new artist paint, soft pastels, a nice little canvas or two, any pastel paper. Just imagine if I could transform this picture...

Into something like this...
Wouldn't it be lovely to have a Degas-like painting hanging on the wall in Eanna's bedroom? That would be really nice.

Hmm, maybe I should keep on looking at art that inspires me so that I will be more enticed to pick up that pastel again. :)

Effortless Chic: Miranda Kerr

Gotta love Miranda Kerr. Not only does he have my (former) man (hahahaha!), she also has good fashion style.

Here she wears simple clothing, but she's so put together! Let's see if I can try this look (yes, complete with the heels). :)

Get Naked!

A little over a week ago, I had my lashes done in Xtensions Greenhills, thanks to the Groupon vouchers that I had purchased 2 months ago. I really liked the look of it, but for some reason (psychological I guess), I felt it wasn't for me. I was conscious that there was something attached to me, and so I did my best to weaken the lashes' adhesion and after one week, I could pick them out one by one with minimal discomfort.

Also, I can't seem to accept the fact that I cannot wear eyeshadow while I had those extensions. For me, that didn't set that quite well. I'm not a makeup-y person and I rarely wear eyeshadow as daily wear, but when I do feel like it, I want to have that option of having eyeshadow anytime I want.

So, off with the extensions, and on with the Naked.

Urban Decay's Naked palette, that is. :)

I was struggling to decide on whether to get the Naked or the Naked 2. What won me over for the original Naked was the inclusion of the eyeshadow primer, which for me is more important than the Naked 2's lip gloss.
It would be too much if I bought both, hehehe. But I was really torn on this one.

Anyways, I love my latest splurge and I look forward to experimenting. For tomorrow's look, perhaps!

Maroon 5's Overexposed

Lately I've been listening to Maroon 5's latest album, "Overexposed" and I must say that I truly enjoyed this album.
Very upbeat and danceable enough that even my darling daughter loves listening to the album. Our current favorite is Payphone (not a surprise), the remix version, that is. Eanna keeps on hitting the replay button, I just set it to single loop. The style is very much different from the other Maroon 5 songs I was used to (gotta love "And She Will Be loved"), and maybe it seems like the rhythm's more mainstream (was there an effort to reduce hum), but nonetheless I enjoyed it. Too bad though that the song "Stereo Hearts" wasn't included, else it would have been all the more enjoyable.

Overall I would recommend this album for those who want to witness Maroon 5's new direction in their music. If all else fails though, just hit the replay button for the remix "Payphone" hehehehe.

Enjoy!

Angry Skies

We are yet again experiencing angry skies, heavy rains, and flooded areas.

This is a view from our balcony, which does not reflect the real situation of the streets out there.
Lots of pictures in FB showing the knee-deep (and even some shoulder-deep) floods.

I pray for those who are affected. I hope this will not be another "Ondoy" crisis.

Government, please please learn our lesson and do something. We can't be like this every rainy season.

Dreaming of Beach

Funny, just when the rainy season came in, I have thoughts about the beach and how it feels to be one with nature (wow, heavy huh?). Maybe its because I longed for those serene moments when you stare into the horizon while listening to the waves, pondering about life. Maybe it is also because I need some inspiration to keep me going, to keep me engaged and motivated to "stay where I am right now." Before, I used to keep myself motivated by having a picture of my dream home stuck on my monitor. Now, maybe I need to have a picture of a home by the beach. Hubby and I have been wanting to have a property by the beach, which is why once in a while, we take a look at possible options, even surf the internet and look at sites like SeaCoastRealty.com for holden beach real estate. *Sigh* I wish that someday we will have a peace of land we call our own. I guess at least right now this will keep me motivated to do my best and all. *Sigh* Someday soon.

The INFP Me

categories: ,
Yeah, can't get over personality tests right now, for some reason. There were some questions wherein I have both qualities, so I chose those in my second round and yeah, this was the result.

You Are An INFP
The Idealist

You are a creative person with a great imagination. You enjoy living in your own inner world.
Open minded and accepting, you strive for harmony in your important relationships.
It takes a long time for people to get to know you. You are hesitant to let people get close to you.
But once you care for someone, you do everything you can to help them grow and develop.

In love, you tend to have high (and often unrealistic) standards.
You are very sensitive. You tend to have intense feelings.

At work, you need to do something that expresses your personal values.
You would make an excellent writer, psychologist, or artist.

How you see yourself: Unselfish, empathetic, and spiritual

When other people don't get you, they see you as: Unrealistic, naive, and weak

Bold for emphasis on the qualities I feel that are really me.

So I guess I really am a mixture of INFP and ENFJ, and probably more of INFP I think! :P

What's yours?

Preparing for Eanna's Fifth

Time flies really really fast. In a little over a month, my baby girl will turn... 5!!!!!

Goodness, it seems that she no longer is a baby - she's becoming all the more independent, more talkative, decides on her own, etc etc. And she does want to tell people that she is 5 years old, even she's not there yet. Hahaha.

Anyways, I need to come up with something already for Eanna's 5th birthday party. AS always, it will not be that grand. Most likely it will be 2 parties though. First, the one in school. This one, it will be very simple as no giveaways are allowed, plus only one meal and one drink should be given to each classmate. Yup, Poveda wants to instil simplicity when it comes to celebrations.

The next one is a little bit "grander." Likely the little girl will choose either a Princess party or a Tinkerbell party theme. Just a simple cake, with simple food and simple giveaway (something personalized I guess, like custom tshirt or notebook and pen). We'll see. The hubby will be home that time, so I better ask for his opinion too. Hehehe. Will post future plans in the coming days!

Still an ENFJ

Ok fine. I took another test and the result was the same. So does that mean that I really am an ENFJ???
Your Personality is Very Rare (ENFJ)
Your personality type is dramatic, expressive, proud, and demanding.

Only about 4% of all people have your personality, including 5% of all women and 2% of all men
You are Extroverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Judging.
Funny though, because a couple of years ago (I just realized now), I took the same test and the result was somewhat different.
Your Personality is Very Rare (INFP)
Your personality type is dreamy, romantic, elegant, and expressive.

Only about 5% of all people have your personality, including 6% of all women and 4% of all men
You are Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving.

HOWEVER, I truly feel that I am a mixture of these two personalities. Yes, I tend to be an extrovert at times, but there really are those moments when I just by myself, into that introspective mode. So, shall i say I'm somekinda schizo-ish? Or maybe my family is correct when they describe me as "semi-autistic?" Oh well. :)

Home Insurance Woes

Finally. My home insurance (Fire Insurance and Mortgage Redemption Insurance) woes are over. I hope. I had to deal with my concerns for 2 days with BDO, and thank goodness I finally got to pay and settle. What's irritating about it was the fact that their customer service isn't that great, unless you call them up then you would feel a bit of a sympathy and that they truly were sorry for the confusion that caused delays and all.

But all is well now. Well, at least until the next billing (or shall I say non-billing) cycle comes along next year.

Good thing I don't have any concerns when it comes to my life insurance, of which I have Philamlife to thank for. I'm happy with my plan, although I am also looking for other insurance plans, this time for the hubby. I've seen some of equote's low cost life insurance, so that's an option as well. Anyways, enough of the woes and all. It was a fairly good day, and at least I accomplished something hat would have been more annoying if I wasn't able to pay that much attention to (imagine, the horror of paying someone else's home insurance!). Goodnight!

Personality Test: ENFJ

How true....?

You Are An ENFJ
The Giver

You strive to maintain harmony in relationships, and you usually succeed.
Articulate and enthusiastic, you are good at making personal connections.
Sometimes you idealize relationships too much - and end up being let down.
You find the most energy and comfort in social situations ... where you shine.

In love, you are very protective and supporting.
However, you do need to "feel special" - and it's quite easy for you to get jealous.

At work, you are a natural leader. You can help people discover their greatest potential.
You would make a good writer, human resources director, or psychologist.

How you see yourself: Trusting, idealistic, and expressive

When other people don't get you, they see you as: Bossy, inappropriate, and loud
