The Dreaming Soul

You Are a Dreaming Soul

Your vivid emotions and imagination takes you away from this world

So much so that you tend to live in your head most of the time

You have great dreams and ambitions that could be the envy of all...

But for you, following through with your dreams is a bit difficult

You are charming, endearing, and people tend to love you.

Forgiving and tolerant, you see the world through rose colored glasses.

Underneath it all, you have a ton of passion that you hide from others.

Always hopeful, you tend to expect positive outcomes in your life.

Souls you are most compatible with: Newborn Soul, Prophet Soul, and Traveler Soul

Testing My Dessert for Christmas

I just wanted to test the dessert I plan to serve this Christmas. I loved it.

Vanilla Ice cream topped with Strawberries in Wine

For the "sauce": In a saucepan over low heat, dunk in fresh or frozen strawberries. Add red wine, add sugar. Cook until it boils in the sides. Drizzle over the ice cream.

I'll make it more special though by using mixed berries. Yum yum.

Got to buy these nature-friendly products during the Urban Bazaar:

Simple Shoes

Both hubby and I loved the comfort of these shoes. Thank goodness one shoe fit me! These shoes are made using recycled and natural products. Love, love, love them.

Messy Bessy

Some are for home-use, and some, i bought to be given to others this Christmas. I have tried some of the products and they seem to be ok. Which reminds me, i gotta ask our housemate how she rates these products. Hahahaha.

Spred the word... let's be earth-friendly (and human-friendly too)!!!

Reason for my Delinquency

In blogging, that is. Oh, plus in plurking and chatting. Hahaha.

Well, aside from me being very busy with my "complete" family, there has been a lot of developments in our company that caused some stress (what an understatement!!!) on our part. These ruffled the feathers of some people and so gave us here in the office some difficulty. I don't want to say more about this for fear of saying unpleasant things again, but I have learned a lot from these experiences and hopefully these would remind me who or who not to become. I've always thought that there are so many things I need to do in order to change and be a better person but all these have made me realize that I'm not that "bad" after all. I just hope and wish that people will realize that not everything is all about money, and sometimes, we have to sacrifice a bit especially in these uncertain times.

In these days where uncertainty in jobs, financial and market condition rules, there are two ways I guess. Either to be brave, hope for the best, be more understanding and cooperative and help each other... OR... keep the arrogance and be selfish.

So... will I now be able to blog, chat, plurk regularly (Nyahahaha)? Well, that really depends. But I will try to do my best to keep my blogs alive. After all, blogging is my way of unwinding.

Am I a Workaholic?

categories: ,
For a couple of days now, I can be described as disturbed and can play the lead for Girl interrputed II (if ever hahaha). I don't know, depression suddenly hit me, and yesterday, I was at my all-time low. I was crying like crazy and hubby couldn't do anything to help me. He kept on asking me what my problem was so that he can understand and help me, but I was just too ashamed to say that all my stress, uneasiness, and anxiety are caused by just one: work. It really is a stressful month for me, and people, for some reason, have been uncooperative, and worse, some were really arrogant and demanding. Yes I know, this is the industry I am in. I decided to stay here and accept the big responsibility it entails.

I used to like the challenge and don't get affected (that much) by my work. But now, it's the only thing in my mind, and it keeps me from being a full-time wife and Mom to my wonderful child.

I have considered going into rehab and cleanse my mind off of things. Or take a vacation (a long one, in that case I need to book some las vegas hotel reservations), or go to spritual classes.

I do hope I'm not getting insane. I want to see my kid(s) grow, and to grow with hubby. *Sigh*

The Day The Earth Stood Still

I was really looking forward to seeing this movie with dear hubby, because I found the trailer and the title very interesting. I got to read one short review about it, and it said that the movie was "watch-able" but is inferior compared to the original version. I wouldn't relaly know because I didn't watch the original film.

On to the movie...

Well... uhm... Hubby and I were a bit disappointed because the movie kind of lacked coherence and that there were so many loopholes and questions. What would have been a good message to all mankind was dampened or outstaged by the special effects (not much still!) of the film. I don't know, I wasn't that convinced that mankind will be destroyed. I hoped that they showed our destructive side more - to make us realize how destructive we were 9and still are). I hoped that the movie would make us relate more to it in that we ourselves would think and in a way convince Klaatu that we aren't such a bad species after all. What i liked thought is how the politicians (and world leaders) were portayed. Sorry if I'm so cynical about them but it is a good thing the movie portrayed them as arrogant people who's only interest is their self-preservation... So what if people will die, as long as they are in their own safehouse right?

But anyway, the movie still made me think and I hope that others too thought about the message seriously. This movie is very timely and relevant to the times right now. We need to save our planet and save ourselves.

PS: I really found jennifer Connely really really thin... Did she take anything, Leptovox perhaps? I would love to be as thin as her. Well, maybe some few pounds more.

Happy 15 months dear sweetcake of ours!

We had a simple celebration of Eanna's 15th month: balloons, cake, sashimi, kimchi, miso soup (for her), and Korean beef stew. YUMMY. Dessert (aside from the cake)... vanilla ice cream topped with strawberries cooked in red wine and sugar. Divine.

Two Years!

categories: , ,
Yesterday marked our two years as husband and wife, and boy did we spend the day together in pure bliss (naks!). Hubby started our day with him greeting me with a huge bunch of roses. I thought they were 24 all in all (you know, a dozen times two years!), but when I counted them, they were 50 all in all! gash, that was the biggest bouquet I received in my entire life. Hahaha. Such as sweet man. We had a lovely breakfast with our little one, before we went off for work - he in the review center, me at work as usual.

I took half a day off to spend real quality time with my love. He picked me up for lunch and we had buffet lunch in kamay kainan. Yummy. Then we shortly went to the grocery to buy some snacks for the afternoon. We spent the whole afternoon by ourselves, reading our own magazines in between. Hehehe. Then we had dinner at Crowne Plaza, where I ate a lot of seafood. Oysters, lobsters, crabs, sashimi, salmon. Heaven. Plus the steak... yummy juicy done just right. And hubby? Gash, it was bad timing for him because he had some tummy problems. Hahahaha. Just imagine I had to eat for two. harharhar.

Anyway, that was just a simple celebration for us, and i look forward to more years of happiness and love. Happy Anniversary my husband!

PS: Today, I had tummy trouble. Yaiks.

My Gym Experience

categories:
After 25 miliion years and 45 million nags from my husband, I finally had the strength and will to go to the gym on the ground floor of our condo to jiggle and shake my booteh. All this ebcause of a lot of people asking how many months am I on the way. Duh, do I really look pregnant? And that pregnant? Grrr.

Anyway, I tried to remember what my gym instructor told me to do before (yes, I do own a gym lifetime membership, only because it was a benefit from my previous company), and tried to focus in exercising. I did try to keep in mind that I really have lose some pounds. 10 minutes in the walker, 2 minutes in the bike (harharhar), and about 2 minutes in that dang hard stepper (another cause of harharhar). Then I went on to lift some weights using those scary equipment. Then of course I got those small weights to work on my saggy arms. One hour later (naks!), I did some yoga stuff... my favortie part of my routine.

I felt good... until i woke up the next day with excruciating pain all voer. I remembered I tried to stretch and all but it must have been not enough because my feet and legs hurt like crazy! It ain't as serious as Plantar Fasciitis but nonetheless lack of stretching (pre- and post-) plus not using the right shoes must have been the culprit.

Ok fine, it's because my body isn't used to exercising. Hmph. Oh well. It won't stop me from going back though. It's quite fun especially if hubby is around. His kisses on the side are nice little incentives. Hahahaha.

Night at Policarpio Street

categories:
One evening last week we visited that "famous" Policarpio Street in Mandaluyong. What makes it famous is that every year, all houses are lit with Christmas decor plus a tiangge, much to the delight and amusement of the people. This year however, it was announced that there will be no more tiangge and that only a few houses will participate in the Christmas decorations. We tstill checked it out, and indeed only about 4 houses had Christmasss stuff on. Still, these houses looked amazing with their lights and decor!

Although I doubt that they used energy efficient bulbs and lighting, but still, one would really smile and temporarily forget the hardships of life, and just be glad that it's Christmas.

Redesigning vs Saving

I'm in this phase again where I want to beautify our little nest. See, I'm correct with my "cycle"! Anyway, I've been checking out boutiques, depots, and furniture shops to check out what's new in the home design world (ok, blame it on the Domino book!). been browsing through home design magazines too, and I came across a feature on Daphne Osena's home. I love her place! And I got really green with envy with her bathroom! I told dear hubby that we should redesign and redecorate our bathroom, or at least check out Kohler faucets and change our leaking one. Hahahaha. And as usual, hubby asked if to change our home's look is really a necessity or another want. grr. Well, He's right though. Our place is still new, and as it is, looks nice. And because of the world financial and market condition, yeah... I am thinking twice.

Men and Cars

I'm really trying to understand why my husband is so into taking care of his new "baby." Every single morning, when he wakes up, he goes down to the basement and clean our car. Sometimes, this becomes our cause for LQ (you know, me wanting him in bed, him wanting to make sure his car looks smashing). And now, he's fuzzing about security of the plate number. He wants to buy this car plate protector that's made of glass and that it can securely lock the plate to avoid it being stolen. Oh well, I guess I should let him be. He doesn't have much "luho" anyway.

I like this for our dining area!

I saw a lamp shade with a similar pattern in Regalong Pambahay, and I have asked before (prior to seeing this beautiful picture in DominoMag.com) and asked if they make chandeliers with a Damask pattern or if at least I can buy the shade alone (bigger size though).

This, but in Coffee or light brown shade

Negative.

Where can I get one similar to this?

PS: I also want those chairs. Loving this look talaga.

Eanna's Smilestones

Here's quite a few that I should blog about...
  • She walks like a pro - and she doesn't like riding on her stroller! Whenever we are in the mall, she enjoys walking. When we're "away," she goes to us, holds one of our fingers, and pulls us to go where she wants to go.
  • She wants to eat her food by herself. She doesn't know how to use her utensils, but she's getting there. Right now, she uses her hands to eat. Messy, but fun to watch hahaha.
  • She knows how to kiss us when we say "Kiss Mama" or "Kiss Papa" Love it!
  • She does "flying kiss" LOVE IT!
  • She still loves making "beautiful eyes" hehehehe.
  • She loves her reading time with me. And lvoes her Strawberry Shortcake book.
  • When we give her medicine, she already opens her mouth and doesn't resist. Puera bati hahahaha.

Hmmm... what else? Will post these every now and then. Miss my Bebe bigla. Hay. Gotta go home now.

Weekend Purchases

categories: ,
There was so much on sale last weekend (bazaars, mall sales, etc) it was quite a surprise that I didn't give in to temptations and opted to buy stuff that we already planned to get. Well, save for this Santa Claus dress for Eanna, that is. Hahaha.

Christmas Decor
I initially planned on not having that much Christmas decor (just sue the old small Christmas tree we had last year). However, the decorating bug bit me, and so I was really wanting to get a few Christmas decors. I was still cautious in our purchases, so we just bought a few and assembled them. No big Christmas tree purchase though. Hehehe. I liked the colors that we chose as these really went well with the colors of our living room.

New Console for our foyer. I have been wanting this small console for quite a while, so when dear hubby gave me the go signal to get it, we immediately did. Hahaha. Love, love love it. Now, our lighthouse table serves as our side table in the living area, and the glass nest tables are now where they were initially intended to be - center/coffee tables. I'm really kinda loving how our living area looks like. Except our tv stand which need imporvement. Hahahaha.

Of course my post will not be complete without more pics of Eanna. Hahaha. Here she is enjoying the "polar bears" and this winter animal (I forgot hahaha). This is the first time she wore her denim jeans. Love it on her!

Domino: The Book of Decorating
I got this in National Bookstore, and I am falling in love with this book! Lots of ideas on how to pruce up your own space. Love, love love it. I wish though that Domino Mag is available here. Is it? I am not sure. This is my little Christmas gift for myself. hehehe. I caught hubby reading it, he looked so cute reading it while waiting for me to wake up. Hehehehe. Any guy would fancy this book too. It is a must-buy!

That's all for now. Hope you had a pleasant weekend too. Oh, this weekend there is an urban Bazaar in Powerplant. See you there (I hope)!

Yipee! I finally got what I was thinking of getting some few weeks back, a portable hard drive!

Western Digital My PASSPORT Elite 320GB Portable Hard Disk Drive

My old laptop is already slowing down and for fear of it crashing anytime, I finally decided to get this lovely passport-size hard drive. This weekend, I will transfer all our files (images, videos, other documents) before we get our laptop checked (it probably needs reformatting). I hope that this is a good investment since I really don't want to buy more USBs and memory cards other than for my phone and for our camera.

Eanna's Party

categories: ,
I know, it's a late post, but better late than never, right?

Anyway, we held eanna's birthday party in our condo's clubhouse last 08 November. At first I was hesitant to push through with the party given that my Grandfather passed away a week ago. But everything's already in place, so we just went ahead. The party's theme is "Strawberry Shortcake" and save for the giveaways for the boys, we did our best to stick to the theme.

Here are the pics of our giveaways:

Caterer: Vickoy's Catering
We met them during our friends' wedding, and we love the food they served. What's good with them is they are flexible with the menu... I got one viand from different packages. Hahaha!

Soup: Spinach Soup
Main Course: Roast Beef with Mushroom Gravy, Mini Pork Barbecue, Fish Fillet with lemon Butter Sauce, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Asparagus Tips with Tofu in Garlic Sauce, Baked Lasagna, Steamed Rice
Dessert: Chocolate Fountain
Drinks: Free-flowing ICed Tea and Soft drink

For the kids:
Spaghetti, Hotdogs and Marshmallow on sticks, and mini burgers.
We also had a Sorbetes Cart for the kids (and adults nyahahahaha!)

Decor and Cake: Jacque Tan
We had a Strawberry shortcake backdrop, standee, balloons, and tabletops. Simple, but we loved it.

Most of the kids that attened the party were from our condo. I didn't know Eanna was famous hahahaha. Anyway, at least getting Bobbie the Magicman as our host was worth it. The kids loved the show, and Bobbie was a really good host. Highly recommended!

Aside from our guests, we also invited the maintenance staff of our place and gave giveaways to their kids too. They have been very good to us, and like I said earlier, Eanna is famous and can be voted as Dansalan's darling baby girl. Hahahaha.

It's such a wonderful and fulfilling experience, you know, celebrating our baby's first birthday. Initially I didn't want to ahve a big party but gave in to hubby's wish of thorwing a big one for our own strawberry shortcake. Good thing he convinced me!

Gifts!
Thanks to all the gifts we have received! eanna surely loved all of them!

My Green Living Tips

I still can't get over my wonderful experience in being featured in Moments (Net25, Saturdays at 6:30 pm). Aside from talking about being a Mom, I shared some tips on "green living":

  1. Use compact flourescent light bulbs instead of incandescent or halogen lights.
  2. Minimize use of lights especially if you have big windows. When building a house, do keep this in mind!
  3. Do not waste water. Don't leave faucets running.
  4. Start your own herb or plant box. Grow your own herbs for cooking!
  5. Unplug appliances when not in use. Most important is the TV / entertainment system. Even if on standby, they still consume electricity.
  6. Use bayongs or the eco-friendly bags when going to the market, grocery, and when shopping.
  7. Use biofuel for your car.
  8. Segregate your waste. Use excess plastic bags in lining your waste baskets for disposal.
  9. Do not throw used bulbs and batteries in your regular waste bin. They should be disposed of properly (either I give them to the condo maintenance team or to our company since they have proper procedures in disposing them).
  10. Patronize organic products!
  11. Reuse paper and recycle them.
  12. Talk about green living to your friends and discover more ways in promoting environmental awareness - books, websites, seminars.

I'll be sharing new ways from time to time. I hope that other people will be more eco-friendly in their daily living. Like what I said in Moments, it's about time.

Christmas Gift for Enrique

Christmas time is near and though I have list of gifts to give, I still do not have an idea what to give hubby for Christmas. I shopped for him in HK, so clothes are out. I got a bag for him too to replace his really old messenger bag he uses whenever he travels. Shoes? Uhm, he is happy with what he has now and I don't think he'd appreciate it. How about electronics stuff? we were suppsoed to get a new laptop but then we held back because my old one was replaced and so I can just give the old laptop to him (hehehehe). PSP? His interest in it went down. He is however wanting to get the iPod adaptor for our car.

Griffin RoadTrip with SmartScan for iPhone and iPod

Features (from Apple.com)
  • Play music from your iPhone or iPod on your car's stereo system as it charges
  • Easy one-button set-up--SmartScan searches the radio dial for the three clearest broadcast frequencies, automatically programs them to pre-set buttons, then automatically selects the best of the three for in-car broadcast
  • Quick switching between pre-sets
  • SmartSound Plus technology for clear sound under real-world conditions
  • Flexible steel neck and interchangeable model-specific cradles position your iPhone or iPod perfectly
  • The look of a custom in-car installation without the cost or inconvenience
Hmmm. Puede!

I'm really stressed right now. At work, uncertainty is looming over us. Much as I want to think positive there is this small cynical voice in me that says it might get even worse. At home, I'm a bit stressed too since Eanna's Nanny extended her stay in the province (she got sick). We've got no household help, and both hubby and I are trying to keep things together… he at home, me at work. Can't help but wish I'm just home helping out. Good thing that our Nanny will be back tomorrow.

Still, I can feel my body giving up real soon. I ache all over and I feel so low-bat. I need a vacation, similar to Disney vacations where I can feel like a child again, no worries and all.

Games Galore

Last year, I was very hooked into playing games online, as well as downloading those free games into my computer. This year though, I got too busy with work and mommy-hood that I completely had no time for my favourite past-time. And now, I kinda miss those good ol' days when I just lounge around in our living area and play with the computer to my heart's content. I found a website called Midoritech.com that offers a lot of computer games, including kids computer games. They have games for Mac too, and that’s a relief for me since we plan to get a Macbook sometime, and I need to have a mac solitaire installed in it. Hahaha. Plus, for those who have the new iphone, this site also offers iphone games too. *Sigh* Makes me wish I had one, you know.

Anyway, do check it out!

Artistahin!

Did anyone of you happen to watch Moments of Net25 last Saturday? If you did, then you'll most likely know why my title is such. If not.... go watch Moments on Sunday 11 am!

Anyway, the whole shooting for Moments was a wonderful experience, but I was a bit scared of the final cut of our segment. What a relief when I got to watch it, and it wasn't bad, you know. it was pretty ok (for me at least)! Word spread in our family my relatives quickly called me and asked if they can have their own copy of the show. Sikat ba? Hahahaha. Even my relatives from the US and Canada heard about it, and were asking too for their own copy.

Anita of Net25 just gave me a call and congratulated me, because a lot of the fans of the show texted her and said our segment was really nice. Yipee!

Hello, showbiz! Naks. Feel na feel ba? Hahahaha. Let me indulge and relish the experience. Hahahaha.

On the vanity side, even though my aunts told me that I looked relaly nice and telegenic daw hahaha, I thought I looked fat. My cheeks were bulging like crazy, and my arms look like thighs. Hahaha. Oh well, still not to worry and no need to take the best diet pill in town.

Seriously, I do hope Moms who watched the show learned something from what I shared, and that they too become environment-conscious and help save our planet. Go green living!

Hirap!

Enrik just got out of having a mean cold. I just got out of flu. Eanna is still sick (diarrhea?). Then we don't have a yaya nor a helper. Yaya went home to attend her Lola's funeral, and will be back next week. Since I cannot skip work (lots of work to do especially after some drastic developments in our company), hubby is the only one taking care of the house and of course (mnost importantly) Eanna. Poor bebe.

Plus, my family is insisting that we invite my cousin over to our condo for dinner before he goes back home to Canada.

Another week of work. Usually I look forward to work because it gives my brain a boost (surprise!) and keeps my mind going (you know, to temporarily not think of problems and all). Yet, this week, and the next weeks to come, I dread going to work, for fear that more bad news be said to us. Last week was a temporary respite from this feeling, with preparations and actual party fo Eanna, plus the wonderful experience taping for a segment for Moments (MomStyle segment!) of Net25. Then Sunday night came and thoughts about work trickled into my mind.

*Sigh*

Hope this week will not be as tiring as last week. It is only Monday morning, and I already feel drained.

Sad Things: Purchase of a Vehicle

This is just a follow-up on what I have recently posted about the effect of the world financial condition to us consumers, employees and the shipping industry. I guess now it's not only the shipping industry that is feeling the effect of this global crisis, but all industries in general. Which is why I'm quite confused as to why Honda still has the "guts" to increase their prices for their vehicles. We're now pressured to confirm by today else we will lose the discount and risk getting "hit" by the price increase. Don't they know that people are now trying to save and thus price increases might not do them any good?

Now, we are rethinking whether we should still pursue in getting a CRV or just a Civic. I'm quite worried about what's happening, so I really don't want to splurge on anything right now. I talked to my husband about my worries and he agreed that we should just get the Civic as it's much cheaper. Many people have asked why we should get a new one- well, it's because our old car is showing signs of age (but still very good maintenance and runs well) and I guess after 12 years we have to retire our good ol' trusted car.

Up until today we're still uneasy about the urgency in paying the downpayment today (well, not that we would resort to selling my bags, clothes, shoes and jewelry, as we have joked last night hahaha). We still have until 12 noon to decide. Yaiks. Good luck to us.

The Drama Queen Is Alive!

For a couple of days now, my inner Drama Queen is doing her work and is doing quite well. It is getting to be really irritating though. I've become more sensitive, weepy, and moody, as if I've been PMS-ing! No amount of progesterone intake could take away this peuso-PMS. Poor hubby doesn’t know what to do. One minute I'm, all lovey-dovey with him. The next minute, I'm this grumpy old woman. What's wrong with me? I should be happy and cheerful and all since hubby is here. Instead, I can be given an award for being such a drama mama. Hahaha. Oh well, maybe I'm just being "KSP" to my lovey. This too shall pass... I hope soon!

The Effect in Shipping

Wow, now we are feeling the effect of the world financial condition. First, there was slower loading of luxury cars onboard our vessels. Then our annual party for seafarers is cancelled as part of our cost cutting measures. Now, it seems that even our Christmas party is affected and we will not have one this December. Our Oslo office cancelled theirs, most likely we will cancel ours.

As for our seafarers? Hmmm… let's see, but people have been whispering that the "tides have turned." We'll see.

We are off to the province tomorrow morning in order to attend the wake and burial of my Grandfather. I was hoping that our first family trip to Marinduque is going to be a pleasant one, but I guess some things cannot be planned and are unexpected. I'm still at work trying to address any pending items before I leave. Hubby on the other hand just finished checking our car and is in charge of preparing our things for our trip (baligtad noh? hahaha). Since a lot of us will be there, we will not fit in our ancestral home, we would have to check in the hotel for a couple of days. I was hoping it would be cool when we're there, but my Mom informed me that it's hot right now.

Anyway, all for now. Will sign off and blog again next week.

Western Digital My PASSPORT Elite 320GB Portable Hard Disk Drive

Seagate FreeAgent | Go 500GB Portable Hard Disk Drive

Dang, I should've bought one in HK. I can kick dear hubby for telling me to just buy here in manila since I couldn't decide. It's more expensive here. Grrr.

Back from HK!

After 5 days of staying in HK, I am now back in Manila. It was a tiring yet exciting vacation for our company, as well as for hubby and I. More stories later, since I am now lagging in my work. I've been out for 3 days, you know. Hahahaha. Will blog about our trip as soon as I finish updating my work and all. Gotta work and plurk too you know. Hahaha. I will also post some pictures, and I found it amazing that in just a matter of 5 days, hubby and I kinda ballooned (probably need to take some orovo too hahahaha). Anyway, ciao for now.

Later again!

Getting Ready

We're getting ready for our HK trip and I'm soooo excited already. Other than vacationing with my colleagues, I'm also looking forward to being with hubby in a different country... a first (and hopefully not the last!). I'm sure this 5 days will be a blast for all of us. I hope that this will also be a major bonding time for hubby and I, since we have been apart for more than 7 months. So blogging (and plurking) is off for now.

See yah!

Unsafe World

Don't you just wish that our country has a system or a way in which we can further protect ourselves from crime and criminals? Each day I get to read or watch about crimes and it makes me wonder if our country (or anywhere actually) is a safe place for us, a safe place for Eanna to grow and live. I hope that we will someday have public records of inmates like the ones the US have. I saw this online website that provides swift access to records of inmates. There is a search per state, but there is also a county inmate search for easier and faster results. Now ain't that amazing?

I know, we should not discriminate them and think that prisons "correct" people and not punish them (naks!), but sometimes I get so paranoid and all. Much as I want to see the good in all people, sometime you cannot help but think that we now live in unsafe times.

Breathe!

Now I can breathe... for now at least! Yahoo, audit is done already. Well, the interview part that is. Tomorrow there will still be some minor audits (go to our work place and observe) but at least I can relax for now. The external audit is 2 weeks away, I think, so that leaves us more room to shape up and review our systems, policies, and procedures. hahaha.

Now I can focus on other things other than work: daydreaming, plurking, blogging, etc. Hahaha.!

Company Gifts for Christmas

What's new right now when it comes to giving company gifts for Christmas? I have previously received various items such as pens, key chains, bags, umbrellas, planners, calendars, among other things. But I really want to think of something new that I can suggest to our Admin.

Since our company is very serious about "zero harm to people and the environment", I might as well suggest Promotional Items that are eco-friendly. It's the trend nowadays anyway (and hopefully this will not just be a trend but a way of living). I visited this website called Gimmees and how fortunate it is to find that it offers eco-friendly products. But of course, there are still a lot of items to choose from.

Still, I would like to push for eco-friendly corporate giveaways.

I am seriously wanting these:

USB Drive with Bamboo casing

Canvas Boat Tote

Now isn't this a good idea?

I shall not be bothered by rude, unfriendly, unprofessional - and other similar adjectives - "entities" and atmosphere surrounding me.

IT'S TOO EARLY IN THE MORNING!!!!!!!!

Note to self: keep your calm, still be nice, and always remember that karma is a bitch.

The Growing Tree

Not to mention ancient. hahaha. Kidding.

Anyway, my Aunt (actually, Grandma already since his husband is my Grandpa's brother) has sent me a text message asking for our little family's details (full names, birth dates, etc). I knew at once that she is in the process of updating our clan's family tree. As the Hidalgo family grows by the year, we really have to have our records updated.

I however wanted to take it a step further... why not research on our family's descendants? I know that there are a lot of genealogy search tools right now, but unfortunately I haven't come across one that caters to Filipinos. The US is quite lucky to have numerous ways in piecing together one's family tree, such as the Public Genealogy website. The last names database is huge I tell you, and it covers almost all states. The site is user-friendly and "neat" (I like simple websites).

What's good in our family though is that we have a reunion to catch up on everybody, who's "new", who's "out" (to put it lightly), etc. I guess for now we have to settle for this, but hopefully, my curiosity as to where we truly originated (and whoa re our really distant relatives... royalty perhaps nyahahahah kidding noh!) would one day be satiated.

One More Day

Ack!!! It's our audit today 9and tomorrow) and my mind is blank!!! I tried to condition myself last night by starting on thinking about our company's policy and mandate, but I couldn't do it. I kept on thinking about honeymooning, shopping, and Eanna!

Dear hubby is arriving TOMORROW. I repeat... T-O-M-O-R-R-O-W. So excited and nervous at the same time. Gash. Somebody help me. I need to focus!!!

If It Ain't Goyard

Our HK trip is getting nearer by the day, and much as I am excited about our trip, I'm getting a bit worried about spending. I hope I won't go gaga over shopping! Dear husband will be there with me on Sunday, so at least I have somebody to control my shopping appetite. My worry though is the first 3 days I'm there. I have a want-list ready already, but I'm not so sure if I want to look at it or even pay attention to it. For one, I've been wanting to get a red Goyard Fidji bag. This bag has captured me for the longest time, but now I'm having seconds thoughts in getting one for myself. I might be too selfish to just think of myself, knowing that 1) we plan to buy a car 2) hubby will be here for quite some time 3) we gotta save you know!

So if I ain't getting a Goyard, then probably I will just settle for a rocawear purse, preferably this:

The brand RocaWear is something new to me, but I'm liking the clothes, the bags, the accessories. Not that cheap, but not that expensive either. In short, this brand fit my seemingly decreasing budget. Clothes look comfy and the jeans look smashing. There's so much to choose from and I love it! Oh, I should mention that Jay-Z is a co-founder of Rocawear. Nice!

Ok, before I get excited once again, I should stop. Hahaha. Focus on the audit (which is today), focus on hubby coming home, focus on saving. Not.
