Happy As Ever

Our family is finally complete! The husband came home Thursday evening and we were all so very excited and happy to be together after almost 5 months of being apart.

Here's a candid picture of us the morning after.

Obviously I'm the one who only made funny faces here. Hehehe.

The "Mystery" Shampoo

When I first saw the "Mystery" Shampoo days (or a few weeks?) ago, I immediately thought of only 2 brands: Olay or Pantene. I was leaning more towards it being Pantene...

Thanks to Pioneer Center, I have confirmed that the "Mystery" shampoo is indeed Pantene. I didn't scrutinize it that much so I don't really know the difference but there is a "limited edition" conditioner available.

Once my shampoo and conditioner are all finished up, I may consider trying this. Or better yet, why don't I just register in the MysteryShampoo website and get a sample!

Christian + Manolo

Rather than drown myself in sorrow, I headed to Neiman Marcus (online, of course) to the shoe section and just looked at the shoes that have always been in my Shoes Wishlist:

Christian Louboutin
Manolo Blahnik

(not available in Silver)

And then the newer ones...

The list goes on actually....

So many shoes, so little moolah.

Awful Day Before

This is such an awful day before the husband arrives. First, my daughter gets sick with fever.

True to form, I followed suit. Got a mean cold, my whole body hurt, and I have subjected myself to getting bed-ridden.

This is crazy, I tell you. I should be preparing for my husband coming home. The only consolation is that my little lovely daughter is well now. It's always like that. Her sickness transfers to me. Better that way though than see her ill.

*Sigh*

I really must try to get well over night, and look impossibly fresh by the time I pick him up at the airport tomorrow evening.

*Ah-choo!*

Good luck to me.

3 More Days!

Why is it that a 3-day wait is taking a long time? I am so impatient when it comes to waiting for my husband.

I waited for 4.5 months, I can do this 3-day thing. Hahaha.

PS:
Yes, I deliberately DID NOT blog about the shocking ADMU loss. 'Nuff said.

The Laziness That Is Me

Blame it on the hubby's arrival delay, I am laziness in the flesh. Laziness at its finest. Geesh, I have not been doing anything this week save for eating chips and watching SATC and Mad Men series. I didn't even claim writing opportunities in Bright Hub.

Yes, it is because all I could think about is "When is my husband coming home???" I've been staying in my bedroom for the past few days already. This is a surprise since I designated our dining area as my "office area" and Eanna's room as my sleeping area. Now, I just want to shut the window, keep our bedroom dark, turn on the aircon, turn on the side table lamp, cozy up on my bed, and watch tv shows in my laptop. I should go easy on my chips+guacamole+soda thing though. i can't be too over-confident with the fact that I lost 7 lbs. with a little less effort.

*Sigh*

When is my husband coming home?????

Little Girl in Black

Check out my fasyon little girl...

Those are actually those drop-crotch/harem pants, but she wanted to wear them like a jumpsuit. These weren't her original clothes, that's why the shoes didn't match. But she didn't want to take off the clothes she tried on so we just got them for her.

Coco Cola world Cup Glasses in McDo

I remembered that i wanted those Cocoa World Cup glasses offered by McDo, and so my whole household went to McDo for lunch.

Too bad there's no Blue. We each grabbed our own sets of glasses. I got 6, and my two helpers got 4 each. I would have gotten more but I think it's overkill already. Maybe next time again. Hehehe.

Home Design Fave for the Week

This home featured by Apartment Therapy is haunting me...

I love the color scheme. Of course, the accent color (blue-greenish Ralph Lauren pain in "Reflecting Pool") is what attracted me the most. It is very close to what I want. Too bad there aren't any RL paints here, though I have seen that Ace Paint in "Baltic Sea" comes very very close.

I think in our case, these lighting options by Venzon will suit us well...

I would love to have this Hutton Sofa from Room & Board (Vance cloud fabric), but it's just too dang expensive...
We seriously need a bar armoire like this...

As for the dining area... I still want a settee on one side of the table...

... and Ghost chairs on the other side...

And nice dining table....

Summit Ridge vs Taal Vista Hotel

Since hubby is coming home very soon, I have checked special promo packages offered by hotels in Tagaytay. I have found 2 so far...

Taal Vista Hotel:
We've availed of this promo last year and I must say that it was a very good experience for us. We won;t mind going back here!

Summit Ridge:
We have never been to Summit Ridge but their promo is worth looking into as well.

The other two options is Estancia Hotel (where we always go) and of course, Canyon Woods. I have yet to check the package for Canyon Woods since we are a vacation club member there.

Ooooh, I can;t wait till the husband is back. I promised to him that this will be his best vacation so far, after a hell-ish stay onboard.

Eanna and Her Pearls

The little girl really loves necklaces. Blame it on me I guess, since lately I'm into accessories and all. So here she was earlier during the day wearing the Cutetoure (did I get that right?) pearl necklace I received as prize from Jenni Epperson's Twitter contest...
We were off to have lunch at my in-laws. So anyways, my Mother-in-law was so fascinated with the little girl and her pearls that she gave her a shorter one...
This suits her more, I love it!
Eanna was no longer in the mood to smile and pose! But I think I did get those pics a bit right.

Little fashionista in the making!

Rustan's Talk: Italian Living & Entertaining

I attended the Rustan's talk on Italian Living and Entertaining. I brought along our two helpers so they get to learn something from the talk as well. It was not as in-depth as I hoped for, but I did enjoy My Home's Jie Pambid on his talk about Italian design. But before that, let me first summarize the other speakers:

The host (I forgot her name, sorry) briefly talked about Italian entertaining in general - serving of wine, Italian food, formal and informal dining set-up, etc etc. Then the owner of the new L'Contro talked about the different course meals and what can be served: Aperitif (like Cocktails), Antipasto, First Course: pasta, Main Course: meat or seafood, Soup, Salad, Cheese, Dessert, then coffee or tea.

The next talk was from Marcoroberto and he briefly discussed about Murano and the Murano glass/furniture. He also added that to truly entertain the Italian way, there should be 3 other things: Love, Passion (Romance), and Art. Without having those in the atmosphere one cannot truly entertain the way Italians do. Music and art are very important.

Then, the last talk was from Jie Pambid. Before the talk, I just had to tell him how much I loved the July Issue of My Home and that for me it was the best issue so far. He was very happy to hear that and we briefly discussed its contents.

Anyway, on to his talk...he started with a short history of Italian Design: Traditional, Provincial, and Modern. Then he explained to us the vignette he just arranged awhile ago and that one need not stick to just one style. Can you guess which of the furniture used are traditional, provincial, and modern? He asked us this hehehe.
There are four important elements according to him:
  • Color: This binds the space together. For Italian design, use of earthy neutrals is very important: mocha, beige, black.
  • Texture: Combine rough (rug), smooth (settee and pillows), metal (shelving, I forgot what those two pillar-like things were called), and glass (accessories).
  • Lighting: Very important to use warm light in almost all areas. White light should just be used for task lighting (office and desks).
  • Shape: Notice the shapes of the vases and urns on the background? Though they are different in texture, their shapes are almost the same. Repetition is important in this case.
What is important is that the homeowners should experiment and let their personality come through.

For the Q&A portion, I was of course the first to ask. He was really very nice and called me by my name hehehe. I asked about the color Turquoise (it is my favorite home design color hehehe). I asked how this can be incorporated into Italian design. He said that it is a nice and somewhat daring color, so I can mix it with the beige-y and earthy neutrals as well. I loved it and smiled like crazy when he told me this: For a more daring take, mix it with chocolate brown. I LOVE HIM! After the talk, we chatted for a bit and told him that I really wanted turquoise and chocolate brown so him advising this color combo just made my day!

Remember this, I made a few weeks back?

Yep, that's turquoise on the right and chocolate brown on the left.

He also told me to have chocolate brown and champagne pink and I said I might do that for my daughter's room. I did tell him though that I love champagne pink, especially the drink (pink champagne). Anyway, our chat ended with him encouraging me to study in PSID. Hmm, I really just might do that, I'm so inspired by him hahaha!

So anyways, even though the talk was delayed for more than an hour (which almost tempted me leave), I guess staying and waiting for it was worth it!

Last one for the night. Can't believe my husband isn't still online. I gotta sleep.

Nice quiz. Yes, I have been wanting to have a layered bob for the longest time.

Your Fashion Style is Trendy

You love fashion and live to shop

And keeping up with the latest trends is what you love best

You know what's in, out, about to be in, and about to be out

You love to dress your friends and would make a killer celebrity stylist

Yes, I must admit I love fashion. Well, not really nowadays. Like what Carrie Bradshaw said in Sex and the City 2, "I have traded fashion for furniture." Yep, I am more into home design though I also check out what's new in clothing and accessories every now and then (thank goodness for Bloglines!). What I don't shop for are insurances like disability insurance or those pre-need plans (it's kinda creepy when it comes to checking out those "life plans", you know). I should do that though. Maybe next year. We'll see!

The Kind of Sexy I Am

While waiting for dear husband to go online, I decided to visit Blogthings for new tests. Here's one...

You Are Glam Sexy

You live for flaunting your sexiness, and you totally work it.

Why not? You've got the goods - you might as well use them.

You're 100% woman, and you never go out without looking your best.

After all, you never can tell when you might bump into Mr. Perfect!

Nice eh? Hehehe. What's true though and I always say it is that I am 100% Woman. Hahaha.

Yeah, it is nice feeling sexy instead of feeling insecure about yourself right? I mean rather than obsess about looking for the best acne cream or cellulite cream, it does feel better if we accept our "flaws" but still try to be healthy and feel sexy (or sensual), right?

Autumn Tableware from Hermes

I would love to have Hermes dinnerware for really special occasions. Check this out...
