Mom's Birthday!

It was my Mom's birthday yesterday, and we celebrated it the whole day!

First, Hubby, Eanna, and I visited her at home only to find out she went walking going to Church. We found her though hehehe! Then after Eanna's ballet, all of us went to MCDonald's for breakfast - her treat nyahahaha! We then met up in Shangri-La to go mall-ing, and I bought her these really nice shoes she's been wanting for some time. Had late lunch before we finally went back home. Then met up again at Eat Well for a really lovely (and yummy) dinner.

Eanna and I before heading out

After dinner, we went to BHS Seattle's Best for coffee. My treat this time! We saw my Uncle and his family (My Mom's brother) and of course, stayed too long at SB for chika and all (including what's the best massage therapy program online available, how diverse hahaha).

Before we could go home, the little girl demanded for us to go to Fully Booked (it's her ritual when in BHS) but got sidetracked somewhere else, this shop for kids and all things kikay hahaha. Then we headed home.

I surely hoped my Mom enjoyed her special day.

Happy Birthday Mother!

Pics to follow!

An "awww" moment. Hehehe.

Got this from Forever 21.

Super love. And yep, I raided Forever 21 again, to my husband's horror. Hahaha. Got some really nice stuff including (another) leopard print sandals, a sailor dress, and a floral blouse.

But anyways, here's what I wore together with those lovely clogs.

Again, forgive me, I just got out of the shower, hahaha.

Can't Help It!

I saw these shoes last year in Forever 21 Megamall.
I as a bit hesitant in getting them because I had too many shoes already (for my husband's liking) so with a heavy heart, I let it pass.

Zoom in to now. Moments ago, I browsed through what's new in the Forever 21 website (after checking out sites with Mail Order Organic Fruit) and guess what, the same shoes are available and tagged as "New" (weird because this was really so last year hahahaha).

Ack, I'm crushing on this pair again. Oh well, I don't think it's available in the shop, and I don't think buying online isn't possible. Whew. Hahahaha!

Plastic Amazona

I was in Greenbelt last Friday to have dinner with one of my bffs, and I chanced upon this pair of lovely plastic shoes from Melissa...

I really really really like this but I think I reached my boundary already when it comes to shoe purchases. What's killing me though is these shoes actually fit me. Something really weird because usually Melissa shoes don't fit me (my feet are too small with length like that of cigars *sob sob sob*).

I'll sleep on this for a month (hahaha) maybe it will go on sale or whatever. Right now, I can't afford another pair. Someday soon, I'll own this Amazona....

Currently Loving: Balenciaga Paris Perfume

The husband is truly spoiling me, I tell you. He got me a new perfume!!!
Balenciaga Paris

The bottle is very very pretty, and of course, I didn't expect anything less, right? Hahaha. Anyway, I must say that I will take a pause from my usual Bulgari scents (been a Bulgari user for the longest time) because I ADORE my new perfume!!!

The scent is not loud, but it is not too subtle either. It is violet-based, but for some reason for me it is not the romantic-floral type (which I don't like that much). Read more here at Perfume Shrine and Mimi FrouFrou.

It really does make me feel like this...

Thanks again hubby. I love your gifts, but...

I love you more!

Date at Blackwood Bistro

The Hubby insisted that we go on a date this Valentine's, and of course I didn't have the heart to say no (and just stay indoors hehehe). Deep down however, I was really kilig hahaha because he really takes into heart the day of hearts (Cheezyyyy).

Anyway, we decided to have dinner at Blackwood Bistro in the Piazza at McKinley Hill. It took us a while to get a parking slot (super small parking area!) but we stil waited. And thank goodness we did, because the food was really delicious!!!

French Onion Soup

How ironic, I am "allergic" to onions but my favorite soup is the French Onion Soup. Blackwood Bistro's version was good, though I preferred that it had more Mozzarella cheese. Otherwise, yummy.

Freshly Shucked Oysters

We were supposed to get the Fresh Seafood platter but our waiter (Mario, who was very good by the way) told us that it might be too big for us. Maybe next time! Anyways, the oysters were yummy. Really fresh and sweet. Though there was cocktail sauce, I preferred my usual condiments: lemon and Tabasco.

Buffalo Crab Claws

This offering was VERY delicious. Love the heat of the sauce, the blue cheese sauce, and the freshness of the claws. It would have been better though if there were more celery sticks, hehehe. We would've ordered another one but we didn't want to get full for our main course...

350g Black Angus Rib Eye steak with Truffle fries and spring vegetables

Mario said the steak was big enough for both of us so he suggested that we split this instead. The teak must have been really good (I enjoyed it!) because my hubby, who is not really a steak lover (got sick and tired of eating them every week for more than a decade of sailing hahaha), loved it. His first words after his first bite "the steak is good." That's a compliment already hahaha. The steak was served with Truffle fries, salad, and French beans.

After our main course, I was really full, but the hubby really wanted to get dessert so we had this:

Chocolate for the Curious

Our dessert consisted of: Chocolate ice cream in a cream puff, Brownie with Whipped Cream, and Chocolate Creme Brulee. This dessert selection was the perfect ending to a perfect dinner. Well, near-perfect because the dessert took a while to come to the table, we almost cancelled it (we did actually but it came after so it was really meant for us to take hahaha). Seriously, both of us need colon cleanse sessions after this really rich dinner hahahaha.

Before we left for dinner though, we had to take a picture, hahaha!
Polka-dot Dress: Topshop
Blue Skinny Belt: SM
Blue Sandals: Charles & Keith
Bag: Chanel

Love love love this day. One of the best days of my life. Love is in the air.

My Happy Valentine's Day

Words cannot express the extreme happiness I felt yesterday.... Pictures are indeed worth more than a thousand words...

Eanna made these for us during her class!

Finally, Hubby's Pasalubong to me:
Longchamp Arbre de Vie, Anthon Berg Chocolates, and Chanel Vernis in Black Pearl (Yay!)

Lumelevel-up na si hubby hahahaha. I was really surprised that he even thought of getting me a nice bag. He said that this bag from Longchamp's Spring/Summer 2011 just got out and will be sold Feb 14 (he got it Feb 13 fresh off the delivery hehehe). LOVE IT!

Then, he got me the nail polish I've been wanting. He tried to get the Mac Wonder Woman collection but it's still not available.

Super happy happy!

Of course, I gave my hubby my Valentine's gift too: M&S Woodspice After-shave and a pack of white handkerchiefs. Not the same levels as xbox but he specifically said he didn't want that. Tehehehe.

Anyway...

We had a date too but that would be on the next post!

Red, Yellow, Pink, Green, Purple...?

I blogged about Cambridge Satchels sometime last December, and though I initially wanted to get myself one, I got distracted by another satchel, the Alexa.

Then I got a chance to see the 13-inch brown satchel in Schu Shop (Powerplant), and my wanting for it came alive again, hahaha!

Too bad I missed the next delivery so if I order now, I will probably get them in April or May. Hmm. If ever I do get one, question still remains... which color to get? Red, green, yellow, purple? ACK. And so this problem is revived!

PS: Aside from seeing pink magic reviews, I've been seeing a lot of blog posts in various blogs about them lovely bags... nice to know they're becoming famous here!

Off to Mass!

Gash, my thighs are ultra-big. I guess I never recovered from my pregnancy eight gain. At least I didn't have that much stretch marks so I don't have to deal with reducing stretchmarks.

Anyways, check out the little girl's outfit. It's a two-piece ensemble actually. She's wearing a dress under the peacoat. Very English girl outfit, hahaha.

Denim Polka Dot Cropped Motorcycle Jacket: Rue 22 (Love the lace lining beneath!)
Black Dress: Zara
Blue Patent Wedge Shoes: Tiendesitas
Leopard Print Shades: Forever 21
Bag: Mulberry

Seriously, I must change bag already. I'm just too lazy to do so. Hahaha.

Revisiting Goyard

Look at Carla Bruni.

She looked totally chic here especially with her Goyard Hotel Du Parc bag...

Anyway, I'm revisiting Goyard again... blame it on the Sac Le Chat which I happened to see in Accessory Lab. It was in Burgundy Color. But when I saw the price... YAIKS! It cost PhP 105k. I was a bit "suspicious" about the price so when I checked online, it should "just" be around 950 euro or roughly $1380. Ang layo ha!

I really really want one in Yellow. Or in Burgundy. But maybe more on yellow. Got this from the Purseblog forum.

Whoever she is, she's so lucky. I really want one!

My current beauty loot obsession: Chanel Coco Rouge Noir lipstick and Chanel Le Vernis 18 Rouge Noir...

I don't know why I always go back to Underworld-inspired makeup and fashion styles. I try to use fresh-looking makeup but something about Vamp-y lips and smoky eyes just make my heart beat a little faster, hehehehe.

So please, before I drown myself in new batches of makeup...

Somebody stop me!!!!

EDIT: I LOVE THIS!!!! Chanel's Black Pearl Vernis (S/S 2011)

DOUBLE EDIT: Hubby gave me the Black Pearl Venis which he got in HK (Airport). Love it super!

Hubby and I celebrated Valentine's Day last year (or was it the other) having dinner at Duo Restaurant. There was a bit confusion regarding the menu that time because he menu presented to us during the reservation was not exactly the same one we were presented during Valentine's Day itself. However, the manager made us happy by honoring what was presented to us originally (it was the old menu that was given, they said).

Anyways, another Valentine's treat is coming up from Duo, and I can't wait to try it with the hubby! Wel.. if hubby will be here on time...

Shut Your Trap

Today, I learned that being too loud (bordering papansin?) is not really a good thing.

Not a good thing at all. I asked someone if I am as loud as this certain person. The person looked at me in a funny way, as if natatawa siya... "Ma'am naman, of course not." Yes, the person I asked was right. This certain person was too much. Goodness.

Yun lang po for the day. Hehehe.

PS: In other news...

1. BPI ATM dispensed 1k less then what I had withdrawn. I complained then and there. It will take 1 week for the investigation to be done. So much worse than accidentally receiving funeral cost quotations). Ack.

2. My ID necklace broke. Again. Grrr.

Happy weekend all!

How to Love Your Husband More

HOW TO LOVE YOUR HUSBAND MORE

Discuss this list with your husband. Ask him to check the ones most meaningful to him and then arrange them in order of importance to him. Use this list as a basis for learning his views. Your relationship can be greatly strengthened as you use these suggestions.

1. Respectfully communicate with him.
2. Let him know he’s important to you.
3. Purposefully try to understand his feelings ¬even when you disagree with him.
4. Show interest in his friends giving him some time with them if they’re trust-worthy.
5. Let go of the small stuff. We all have annoying habits and preferences that are different from our spouse’s. (Dave Ramsey)
6. Tell him you both love him AND like him.
7. Either show interest in his hobbies or allow him space to participate freely. (Dave Ramsey)
8. Protect his dignity on a daily basis.
9. Be tender with him realizing he has feelings also.
10. Foster an atmosphere of laughter in your home. Look for ways to laugh together.
11. Try not to make sudden major changes without discussion and giving him time to adjust.
12. When you go out on a date together don’t bring up problems; ¬have fun instead.
13. Focus on what he’s doing right, instead of focusing so often on the negatives.
14. Show interest in what he feels is important in life.
15. Give him special time with you apart from the children.
16. Recognize that the first few minutes after a spouse comes home often sets the stage for how the rest of the evening will go. So try to make the first few minutes a positive experience. (And then ease into the negative if it’s necessary.)
17. Give him half an hour to unwind after he gets home from work. Your evenings will be much more enjoyable. (Dave Ramsey)
18. Don’t allow any family member to treat him disrespectfully. Be the one to defend him to any family member that dishonors his place as your husband.
19. Compliment him often.
20. Be creative when you express your love, both in words and in actions.
21. Talk with him about having specific family goals for each year to work on to achieve together so you will both feel closer to each other as a marital team.
22. Don’t over commit yourself. Leave time for him.
23. Extend God’s grace to him and be forgiving when he offends you.
24. Find ways to show him you need him.
25. Give him time to be alone. (This energizes him to reconnect at other times.)
26. Admit your mistakes; don’t be afraid to be humble. Peel away your pride.
27. Defend him to those who disrespectfully talk about him. Remember that love protects (1 Corinthians 13:7).
28. Respect his desire to do well¬; not his performance.
29. Rub his feet or neck, or scratch his back after a hard day.
30. Take time for the two of you to sit and talk calmly (schedule it when necessary).
31. Initiate going out on romantic outings (when he’s not tired).
32. Email him when he’s at work, telling him how much you love him.
33. Surprise him with a fun gift of some kind that he’d really enjoy.
34. Express how much you appreciate him for working so hard to support the family.
35. Tell him how proud you are of him for who he is (giving him specific reasons).
36. Give advice in a loving way ¬ not in a nagging or belittling way.
37. Help your husband to be the Spiritual head at home (without “lording” it over him).
38. Reserve some energy for him so you’re not so tired when he wants you sexually.
39. Don’t expect him to do projects beyond his natural capabilities.
40. Pray for him to enjoy God’s best in life.
41. Take special notice for what he has done for you and the family.
42. Brag about him to other people both in front of him and even when he’s not there.
43. Share your feelings with him at appropriate times (but keep it brief when he’s tired: sometimes men can feel “flooded” by too many words).
44. Tell him 3 things you specifically appreciate about him.
45. Honor him in front of the children (differ respectfully in private when necessary).
46. Give him time to unwind for a little while after he comes home from work. Arrange ahead of time to take your “time out”, giving him a few minutes with the children.
47. Get up with him, even when he gets up earlier than you want to and pray with him. (Hopefully you can go back to sleep afterwards. If not, it’s a sacrifice worth making.)
48. Be his “help-mate” in whatever ways you sense he needs it.
49. Do some shoulder-to-shoulder activities with him (like watching a movie or taking a drive together) without talking. Sometimes men just like to BE with you and not talk.
50. Be a student of his ways so you show your love in ways he best comprehends it.
51. When your husband is in a bad mood give him time to recover. Don’t crowd him.
52. Help him to finish his goals, hobbies, or education when your see he needs it.
53. Treat him as if God has stamped on his forehead: “Handle With Care.”
54. Work to get rid of habits that annoy him.
55. Be kind and thoughtful to his relatives. Don’t make him choose between you.
56. Don’t compare his relatives with yours in a negative way.
57. Thank him for things he’s done around the house. (It means a lot to men).
58. Don’t expect credit for all you do for him. Do it as “unto the Lord.”
59. Make sure he agrees with everything important that you’re planning to do. - erm, does this include deciding on designer upholstery fabric hehehe. Kidding.
60. Do little things for him:¬ let him sleep in, bring him coffee and/or breakfast in bed, etc.
61. Don’t belittle his intelligence or be cynical in your words with him.
62. Initiate sex periodically. And respond more often.
63. Sometimes let him enjoy his day off work without having to “work” at home.
64. Get to the point in your discussions. Spare him details unless he wants them.
65. Discover his sexual needs.
66. Surprise him with a 15 second kiss when he gets home from work.
67. Wink at him from across the room when you’re out at a group function.
68. Give him the benefit of the doubt when he mis-speaks.
69. Don’t quarrel over words.
70. Be kind and courteous with him. (Don’t be kinder to strangers than to him.)
71. When things go wrong, instead of assessing blame, focus on how to do better.
72. As a kindness, don’t say, “I told you so.”
73. Try not to argue over money. Peacefully discuss future expenditures instead.
74. Take him out on dates, ¬pre-planning all of the details ahead of time.
75. Hold his hand and snuggle up close to him at times both at home and in public.
76. Praise his good decisions; minimize the bad ones.
77. Tell him you love him more often.
78. Put love notes in his pockets and brief case.
79. Sit with him while he’s watching TV ¬even if the program doesn’t interest you.
80. Don’t expect him to read your mind. (Families are spared grief when a husband isn’t required to read their wife’s mind despite the fact that the wife thinks he should.)
81. Periodically, give him time with his family alone.
82. Check with him before you throw away his papers and stuff. (He may view them as more important than you realize.)
83. Work to keep yourself in shape in every way.
84. Let him express himself freely, without fear of being called stupid or illogical.
85. Carefully choose your words. Remember to “speak the truth in LOVE.”
86. Don’t criticize him in front of others¬, keeping his dignity intact.
87. Visit his childhood home with him.
88. When you’re angry, express it in respectful ways. Don’t give the silent treatment.
89. Pray for him.
90. Make him homemade soup when he’s sick.
91. Look your best¬; dress to honor him and make him proud to be seen with you.
92. Support him when someone tries to put him down. Be his best cheerleader.
93. Don’t disagree with him in front of the children.
94. Take him for a weekend get-away without the children.
95. Cheer his successes whether in business or in other areas of everyday living.
96. Graciously teach him how to demonstrate his love for you.
97. Give him coupons to redeem; ¬maybe for a back scratch or a shoulder rub.
98. Buy him a gift certificate to his favorite lunch spot and put it in his wallet.
99. Hide notes for him around the house where only he will find them.
100. Thank him for just being himself.
