Lunch With My Friends

Last Saturday I had lunch with my friends in Grams Diner Rockwell, as my friend B from Cebu went here to attend his sister's graduation.

Gash, it really felt good seeing them again after more than a month. I wish we could go out more often, but of course this would depend on our schedule. Hope to see them soon.

Anyway, the food in Gram's Diner was ok, maybe a little pricey for my liking. Well, either that or I'm not too sold with the food.

Oh, due to insistent *public* demand, I brought Eanna with me. She's such a sweetie playing with my friends and all.

This is soooo becoming Eanna's website, more than mine. Hahaha.

Lentil Soup

Last night I was feeling the blues (missing my husband) and felt like eating again after having a full dinner (thanks Barefoot Contessa for making me hungry). I remembered there was some leftover of the lentil soup I made so I got up, took out the soup from the ref, heated it and got some crackers to go with it.

Gash, I devoured that friggin soup. Yep, I am a soup lover, and a hearty soup is my second comfort food of choice, first one is of course sushi.

Here’s the “recipe” I concocted for this little soup of mine. This of course is influenced by what I have watched in Lifestyle Network’s food shows, as well as my frequent orders of lentil soup in CafĂ© Med. Doesn’t taste like the real thing (I have limited spices, you know!) but it’s close to the authentic flavor.

Lentil/Vegetable Soup

Ingredients:
Olive oil
Chopped garlic (I love lots of garlic!)
One chopped onion (not really my thing, but just add it anyway)
4 cups water
2 Tbsp tomato paste
1 can of lentils
Cubed potatoes
Cubed carrots
Chopped celery
Cumin
Chili Powder
Cayenne Pepper
Ground black pepper
Bay leaf

Saute garlic and chopped onion. Add water and bring to a boil. Add potatoes, carrots, and celery. Check if the potatoes are soft, then add the lentils. Add the tomato paste, the 3 spices (depends on your taste but I like them spicy hehehe), ground pepper, and bay leaf. Simmer for 15 minutes. Serve with crackers. Crostini preferably, but sky flakes will do. Hahaha.

Lentil Soup

Enjoy!

I woke up today very excited because I am going to meet and have a photo-op with someone...

Before I finally have a picture with..... KYLA!

I got shocked however by the number of people that surrounded me... I'm not used to this much attention! Mama prepared me for this special meeting, but she didn't tell me that so many people will be there!

Kyla's sooo nice! Next time, if the timing is right, I may have a picture with M.R. and D.T., who are rumored to be moving in to our tower sometime soon. Yipee!

Tueday Habit

Some years ago, I got hooked into watching the big TV Hit "Sex and the City." I was so glued to this series that I couldn't wait for the seasons to be aired in local tellies. I got crazy downloading the episodes and watching them in my computer. Gash, those were the days. Ever since it has ended though, there was not much TV series that I pay attention to, save for my old favorites: CSI, CSI Miami, and CSI NY. I also had the evening habit of watching local TV series (now I watch Lobo). These series however are not as light as SATC, my usual Tuesday Evening Habit/

After years of not having one, I finally have a new Tuesday Evening Habit in the form of this...

gg.jpg I LIKE!

Years ago, I have noticed Gossip Girl in bookstores. I was intrigued by the covers and was tempted to buy but didn't. Hehehe. Then I heard that a series was made based on the book (very SATC). Some people have been raving about it, saying it's the next SATC, but I didn't really paid much attention to it. Well, up until one Tuesday evening, I tuned in to FoxCrime and saw that I have already watched the CSI Miami episode being aired. I just kept on surfing the channels and stumbled upon the first credits of Gossip Girl. So I gave it a try and watched it. I LIKE!

Yep, what they said is true, it's very similar to SATC (with the fashionable clothes and all); even the lead girl kindly looked like SJP too!

Anyway, of course for me, nothing still beats SATC but at least it's a break from watching all crime stories and food shows.

Speaking of SATC... gash I can't wait till the movie hits the theaters!

Yesterday I was down with a sore eye, and had to stay at home. It was a boring day, considering that I can't even play with my little pudgy-wudgy. It didn't stop me however from taking some pictures of her!

Doing The Neo-Baroque Thing

Right now I am sooo into the Neo-Baroque theme for our house, and I have checked out some accessories to incorporate our theme to our existing set-up...

Here are some stuff for our master bedroom...

damask-curtains.jpg I LIKE!

I found this in Target.com and most likely will ask my brother to get two panels for us. This would go well with our bedroom...

Our little room!

Actually, I really liked to have this for our walls, but I couldn't find one, up until now...

damaskwallpaper.jpg Sayang!

Anyway, coming up for our living area is this set of tables...

boconcepts_nest.jpg Glass Nesting Table

I got this idea from a unit featured in Condo Magazine and wanted to purchase the set, but balked when I learned how much the it cost. Good thing I found an alternative, which is wayyyy cheaper. I still dream of the original design though. But anyway, enough of that; what's important is I'll be getting this set hopefully by this weekend!

I am also considering getting the Louis ghost chair by Philippe Starck (Kartell).

louisghost.jpg I DOUBLE LIKE!!!

And finally... by this month's end (cross fingers), we'll be getting this...

*Sigh*

Really, one of the best ways to beat loneliness is to shop... clothes or house stuff.

*Missing Enrique* Huhuhu...

Fart Family

I know, I know, it seems weird that I’m blogging about farts, but I just can’t help it since we had a couple of funny moments that involved the emission of some bodily gases, hehehe.

So let’s start with Eanna’s fart, as our baby is the best farter among the three of us. I first got blown away (haha) by this little girl’s ability to produce one heck of a loud fart (and a bucket of poop!) when she was just two days old. Sometimes she wakes up because of how loud her fart is. But her fart is one of the cutest sounds I have ever heard. The most memorable fart she did was when Enrique came home after 8 months of work. It was around 1 am already, and Enrique sees her for the first time. As he approaches to kiss her, she let out a huge, loud, and very “round” fart… poooooot! That was really a funny but touching moment between father and daughter. I love it!

Next we go to the worst farter of all, which is Enrique. Gash, I hated his fart episodes! Fart here, fart there, fart everywhere (sheesh, he’d kill me for posting this). His excuse? A healthy human should fart at least 10 (???) times a day. And boy, he definitely reaches his quota. Enrique had a sweet revenge though, coz one night he let out a LOOUUUDDDD fart that Eanna, deep into her sleep, suddenly awoke in surprise, and because she got gulat, cried and gave out a loud shriek/scream. I can never forget that night. It was a mixture of pity (poor baby) at the same time, again, a really funny moment.

Then there’s me, the in-between… That’s all.

End of my story.

Never Too Far Away

*Sigh*

I really find it hard to do some blogging right now, especially if the topic is about Enrique leaving for work again. It wasn't really a nice "bye bye" as we were caught unprepared for his departure. We knew of his date of leaving Monday last week, and the date of his departure? Friday morning. That's a little terrible, considering that though he knew that he was leaving anytime, we were expecting that their office would call him and notify him at least a week before. had his brother not reported to their office and saw the plans in their blackboard, we wouldn't have known. We waited for their office to officially call him, but that didn't happen. So he just called to confirm the sign on plans.

I really bursted into tears, because though I know that this is his profession, I cannot help but wish that every waking moment will be spent with him. I have so gotten used to him being around, with his antics, jokes, and hot tempers, that I couldn't imagine what the next days would be without him by my side. His almost 5 months of vacation was a mix of happy and sad moments, loving days and major arguing episodes. Funny, that after all that has happened, these incidents have actually cemented our love even more. In the last few moments together before he left, the silence and small talks (I couldn't speak huhuhuhu!) only showed how great our love is for each other (crazy in love haha).

Anyway, on to lighter side of things... Before he left I convinced him to go with me to Dashing Diva so that i could have a much-needed pedicure and that he could have a manicure. Nyahahah....

eanna-068.jpg eanna-069.jpg eanna-070.jpg

Oh yeah, Eanna's Ninong also visited us in our new place and saw her for the first time. He immediately fell in love with our little angel. Who wouldn't? :D

eanna-072.jpg eanna-073.jpg eanna-074.jpg

Anyway, Enrique will be back in 8 months' time (HUHUHU)... I'm single again. HAHAHAHA. Joke! I hope time will fly really fast so we could be together and be a complete family again. And to make things lighter for me, I'll just probably think of a versde from one of my favorite songs... "It helps to think we're sleeping underneath the same big sky..."

House Blessing

Just this afternoon we had our new home blessed. It was truly a wonderful moment as this marks the day when we will finally stay in this little space of ours. Tonight will be the first time that we will be sleeping here. *Sigh*.

Anyway, earlier this morning we thought that the blessing will not push thru, as the secretary of our parish informed us that the priest cannot make it this afternoon. Enrique immediately went to another parish (San Felipe) and fortunately he was able to talk to the Monsignor who used to stay in our parish. Whew! So we went on with the preparations, and finally our little home was blessed. We had a very simple merienda with our immediate relatives, who saw our place for the very first time.

Here are some pics....
