Heavenly Slippers

The first time I wore the Rustan's slippers during my La Mer facial in Shangri-La Makati, I fell in love. It was heaven for my feet. And so now that I had the chance to get myself one, I didn't hesitate...

Little girl wanted her feet to be part of the shoot too. Hehehe.

To All Mothers out there.... Let's all celebrate our special day! Happy Mother's Day!

My daughter surprised me with this!
I was really surprised with this little treat from my darling daughter! I really didn't expect it. Sure, we got the card awhile ago but it's more like her wanting to get it for herself. Among all Kimmi merchandise, she chose the card. Then I went to my neighbor to hang out a bit, and when I got home, I was greeted by this card. I'm sooo happy! Dear little one is such a sweetheart!

We cuddled after hahaha. Yaya took some photos (sorry my camera is not a digital casio but just a mere phone camera hahaha).

To my Mom... Happy Mother's Day to you! Thanks for all the things you've given and you've done for us. We love you!

Again, Happy Mother's Day to all mothers out there!

I just simple can't resist Melissa shoes. Why is it suddenly I'm fixated with this brand?

Look at this, one of their latest from their A/W 2011 Collection

Check out the featured looks from Melissa Loving:

These pegs are really nice, noh? I really like the beige, hehehe! But of course, I really can't get this. Hubby banned me from getting a new pair. Any semblance of a sporty shoe is probably acceptable. But not these kinds hahaha.

Oh well, tough for me. Since it's not available here in Manila anyway(I hope it's not hahahah!) I will just truly admire it from afar. Seriously.

A Realization: Simple Living is Key

Be content with what you have, rejoice in the way things are.  When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.  ~Lao Tzu

Yesterday I was at the mall and I came across a really nice bed frame, an elegant-looking dining set, and a cool new refrigerator. I wanted them all.

Then I realized, I have all the things I need to live a comfortable life. Our bed, though squeaking every time I sit on it, is still a lovely bed. Our dining table, though old already and seems small, are still in good condition. And our ref? It still functions well. All of these are 5 years old already.

I've been out of control lately, with my newfound income. Yet I have to remind myself all the more that I should always go back to what I've wanted when I was a housewife... to live simply (but still elegantly), and find joy in even the littlest of things.

To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter... to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring - these are some of the rewards of the simple life.  ~John Burroughs

This blog's first name is Joie de Vivre. I should go back to basics, go back to the art of finding joy in living.

Each day, awakening, are we asked to paint the sky blue? Need we coax the sun to rise or flowers to bloom? Need we teach birds to sing, or children to laugh, or lovers to kiss? No, though we think the world imperfect, it surrounds us each day with its perfections. We are asked only to appreciate them, and to show appreciation by living in peaceful harmony amidst them. The Creator does not ask that we create a perfect world; He asks that we celebrate it.  ~Robert Brault
