"Regularized!"

Effective 1st July 2006, I am considered a regular employee of our company! Our General Manager (my boss) and Regional Director told me the good news late last week, and though I was quite confident that I will be "regularized," it still felt really good when it was confirmed.

Both told me that my performance was above their expectations, and there weren't really any major negative issues that they can tell me to improve on. That really was a big boost to me, considering the hardships and challenges that I faced in the first 6 months. Our Regional Director apologized that my training was fast-tracked as they needed me full-time, but was still happy that I was able to address the challenges quite well. He said that at first a couple of people were quite "against" taking me for the job, considering that I, according to their standards, am still too young (and a young woman) and "inexperienced" for the job. Good thing I proved otherwise, and so they were really happy that they made the right decision to get me. :-D

Now to the salary part... Hmm... I was expecting something higher (all of us do upon regularization right?) but I was glad to know that I received the maximum percentage increase. I still think I should've received more, but maybe I'll just prove to them my worth.

Anyway, I promised them that I will still continue doing my job the best I can. Dang, I "love" this job.
