Does the Devil Wear Prada?

Yes, "She" does!

Well, according to the book (and now a motion picture) "The Devil Wears Prada."

I read the book when it was released last 2004. It was still relatively unknown here, and the only place where it was being sold was in Fully Booked (that was the time I first saw it). It was a really fun read, and I could just sympathize with Ahhh-ndrea, as she is being tormented by the editrix Miranda Priestly. The unreasonable orders of Miranda are fun to read but then sometimes I can’t help but think... "Ok, I get the point! She really is a devil!"

However after reading it, I knew that the book will be a hit. I mean, who wouldn't be intrigued by the catchy title and the cover illustration?!? True enough, 2005 saw the invasion of the book... hoards of books piled in different bookstores, at cheaper prices. I'm sure every fashionista in town got a copy of this amusing book.


I wasn't really surprised when news broke that there will be a motion picture version. I can’t wait to watch the movie! Now it will even more amusing to watch Andrea struggle and Miranda whip and claw her. I do hope that Meryl Streep will portray the evil Miranda (some said she was patterned after Vogue's Ana Wintour), and I can't wait to see how Anne Hathaway will act as Andrea Sachs. I also look forward to seeing the fashion guru Nigel, played by Stanley Tucci. And of course... the other character in the film... FASHION (c/o Sex and the City's Patricia Field)!
