This is a late account / post on Eanna's birthday, but better late than never right?
Anyway, as mentioned before, Eanna had a total of 3 birthday parties last week, exactly on her birthday. First one was in her class. There were only a few kids, but it was fun nonetheless. We ordered Jollibee meals for the kids and teachers, plus cake of course. Eanna's birthday theme was Mickey Mouse, as she personally chose that as her theme. We celebrated her birthday during their snack break, and we really thank the teachers for allowing us to have a simple party.
Off to the next one. This was a bigger bash, as it involved all her playmates in our condo. We rented the entertainment room there. We invited about 10 kids, but the number of people who attended was like, 40! Some of the kids had two yayas plus a parent! I didn't anticipate this as usually when I check out kids parties of her friends, only a yaya goes. Oh well, lesson learned. It was a riot nonetheless! I cooked the food of course... labor of love, they say hahaha! It's just a simple menu of kiddie spaghetti, chicken lollipops, and the usual hotdog on a stick with marshmallows. We got a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cake too. All kids' loot bags were Mickey mouse-related. We also had a special game for the yayas, where first they are paired for a paper dance, then the final pair will beat each other by having the best score in our version of "Pinoy Henyo." Both yayas are winners already, but the winner of course will get the better bag (yup, I gave away two unused bags, hehehe). The kids were then treated to the traditional Pinoy kiddie party must-have, the pabitin. Oh my goodness, the yayas abttled to get toys for their alagas, hahahaha!
Last party was with my family. I again cooked the meals: Grilled steak (love love this!) and pasta with chicken and shitaake mushrooms (cream sauce). My family loved what i cooked, I'm so proud of course, hahahaha.
The little girl was really happy with the amount of attention she got during that day. She didn't seem exhausted until my parents and sibs left our place. Then less than a minute after she had her bedtime wash, she fell asleep.
Overall it was a fulfilling day for me as a Mom. Even more satisfying is the fact that my little girl enjoyed her day. The dad however insisted that this is the last time that we'd prepare, as he preferred not to be hands-on and just rely on a caterer and an event organizer. Hahahah. Men. What can I say?
Anyways, the parties are over and the gifts have been opened. What I need to do right now, and it really is long overdue, is to send Thank You Cards. Until now I haven't bought a nice set since all I saw were baby thank you cards. I was hoping I'd get to buy Mickey-Mouse Thank You notes too but I guess I'm pushing my luck!
Till next year's birthday bash for my little precious daughter!
