Weekend Blues

Last weekend wasn't really that great for me, as I spent almost the whole time in my bed, watching TV, flipping thru magazines, and moping around...

Pressure at Work
I'm not really that stressed at work, but sometimes certain people just make things difficult, judge you and treat you unfairly (without haven't meeting me yet!). I really wanted to lash out on those creeps but I just talked to my boss about it. He told me not to mind the comments those people have said to other people, and that in this business it really is like this. I told him that I don't expect everyone to like me, but at least respect me if not for the position I am in, but simply because I am a person. I don't really bring work at home, but this time, those nasty comments shot straight into my heart. :-(

Missing Enrique
This is a constant downer for me. Every weekend is a bit of a torture because I can't help but wish Enrique is by my side. *Sigh* I told him about the "situation at work," and he was really upset, to the point that he had self-pity.... He felt so useless because supposedly I shouldn't work anymore (according to him), and now my work is giving me these kinds of problems and issues. *Sigh* It was also our 23rd month-sary last Friday, and of course, the loneliness set it.

Loss of Wisdom
Finally... two of my last wisdom teeth were taken out. The procedures and after-effects didn't hurt that much and that long, but still, it added to my depression....

The Reluctant Mom-to-Be
I don't know, for some reason I have thought of this, even though I am not yet a mom-to-be! Enrique and I have been thinking about whether to have a baby immediately OR spend some more time by ourselves. We have agreed that we wanted to have a baby as soon as possible. But over the weekend, as depression attacked me again, I felt that I wanted Enrique "for myself" first. Most of the time I felt unloved (sob sob sob) and so I thought that I would want to be "bab-ied" first by Enrique. To make things worse, my nephew was a little difficult over the weekend (due to tonsilitis?), causing a little stress to my sister, and I was thinking... can I handle this alone? I felt even more depressed.

Then of course, the monthly red flag came in...

Oh well... I hope that this week will be better than the weekend.

Feeling Bitchy

I have noticed that for the past couple of days, the bitchy side of me was taking the limelight. Rants and sly comments here and there. Irritable mood and fast mood swings. Catty remarks. You name it.

So I took a test to check my bitchiness scale.... and... tada!

You Are 44% Bitchy

Generally, you're an average woman, with average moods. But sometimes... well, watch out!
Sometimes, you let your mean side get the better of you. And you enjoy every minute of it.

Ironing Out The Kinks

Last weekend was an emotionally-packed one, with Enrique and I ending up in tears, as we resolved our own concerns, disappointments, and issues.

It's a wake-up call for me, in a sense that I should exert more effort in making him feel that he has my full attention. I at first told him that he was being unfair (he felt bad that I'm too busy at work), but while we were talking, I fully understood him. It was also another reminder for me that before I do or say something, I have to consider what he would feel about it.

On his side, his standard for "showing affection and giving attention" was too high for me. I know that all his attention is mine, and he just expected that I will give him the same. This was the first time I heard him cry so hard.

I hope that our talk yesterday will help ease the gap between us. This is probably part of adjusting and accepting each other as we are. I really love him, and I know that he loves me so much. Sometimes I feel like giving up, and I feel too that he is running out of patience with me, but in the end, we just can't let go... we want to be together... we choose to be together.

As of last Tuesday I drank a total of 6 cups of coffee.

There is something seriously wrong with me.

PS: I am not a coffee drinker.

The Ultimate Swan

Last weekend, I was bitten by a don't-stay-anywhere-but-home bug, and so I was stuck at home, with nothing much to do. At first I read some old wedding magazines and even tried to read a book. But for some reason, I wasn't that satisfied with what I was doing to kill time.

I kept on thinking what else I could do, and then I remembered the movie "The Swan," where my favorite princess Grace starred before marrying her real-life prince Rainier of Monaco. And so even though I have watched this a couple of times already, as much as I have watched "Breakfast at Tiffany's," I finally got out of bed and set up the dvd and all.

While watching the film, I again remembered the time when I thought I was getting married (but didn't)... I wanted my bridesmaid's dresses to look like the dresses worn by Grace Kelly in The Swan. It so happened that we had a formal company function, so I had a seamstress make a gown patterned after her dress. It was really elegant, and I got a lot of really good comments from both women and men. :-)

But then of course, I had to forego this plan, because my gown almost has the same design.

Anyway, going back to the movie...

The story is about a royal family with dwindling fortune, and in order to keep up, Beatrix, the mother of Princess Alexandra (Grace Kelly) hopes that the crowned prince will marry Alexandra. But when the prince, played by Sir Alec Guinness, visited their place and showed indifference to Alexandra, Beatrix made a plot to make the prince jealous, by "using" the household professor (who is secretly in love with Alexandra). Things became even more complicated when revelations took place... It reminds the viewers that love and romantic feelings are luxuries that royals sadly cannot afford.

I really liked this film, not only because of Princess Grace's captivating beauty, as well as the lovely dresses worn by her (and the rest of the women), but also because of the story itself, and a thought it imparted to viewers... Some find it uneasy to walk on common land, but become regal and majestic when in the waters, where the commoners cannot do anything but watch with admiration (secret or not, positive or jealous-clad) and awe.

Today, for some twisted reason, I got fixated on revamping my blog. And... voila!

It almost all of my time doing this, and along the way I was able to learn something more about enhancing the look of one's blog.

Anyway, this at least shows some of my personality. :-)

If ever I get voer this look, then on to a new one.

The Pain of Losing Wisdom

Hehehe...

The title sounded so poetic and all, but really, I am just referring to my impacted wisom tooth that was taken a little over a week ago. I had to write something about it because it truly was an unforgettable experience for me. Why?

1. This was my first "major" operation/surgery.
2. I had to be injected anesthesia 10 times
3. I could see the blood spatter... yaiks Blood actually dripped to my white zara shirt!
4. My face was disfigured for 1 week, and I could hardly speak.
5. I couldn't eat at all for 1 week. Until now I have a hard time eating
6. Imagine I had to tolerate the excrutiating post-ops pain without the use of pain relievers (I am allergic to them!). I only drank tempra forte, that's it.

Nope, this has nothing to do with setting up my braces, but more to do with avoiding future experience of severe headaches (nerves might be hit by the impacted tooth). Anyway, that wisdom tooth was sooooo huge! Some of my bone had to be scraped out just to extract that dang thing.

Anyway, the stitches were supposed to be taken out last Saturday, but since the area is still swollen, my appointment was moved to this Saturday.

After this? The ortho will extract my 2 other upper wisdom teeth. This time he promised the following:

1. The extractions will only last 20 minutes (each or for both? I failed to ask)
2. Only two injections for each tooth (anesthesia I mean)
3. There won't be swellings big enough to disfigure both sides of my faces.

I really hope he lives up to his promises....
