8 Years

Time really flies fast, but it doesn't mean that it went by without any meaning and all. Yesterday marked our 8th year as officially "together" and boy was I in reminiscing mode. I know, it is weird that we value so much that moment when we committed ourselves to love each other. For some reason, it is more romantic that our wedding day.

At least for me, our wedding day was a mere confirmation of what already existed, only it was put in writing, complete with rituals. Yes, it was lovely that we were officially engaged, had a very nice diamond engagement ring, and a wonderful wedding reception, but our 7/11 date was more magical. It was when I told him that I love him. It was when I finally told myself that this is the man I will be spending the rest of my life with. Even before the proposal (which was good, but then again the answer was not surprising, hahaha). Even before our official "I Do's."

So to you, my darling husband, here's to more years together. I honestly hope that amid all our trials, challenges (whether as a couple or as separate individuals), our love will remain strong and steadfast.

And all along I believed
I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
