Day 2: Orchard Road

We woke up extremely late after a very tiring day travelling and our Clarke Quay stroll at night. We had a quick breakfast in our room (Virginia Ham, Cream Cheese, and Bread) before going to the battlefield that is Orchard Road. We took the tube and in a matter of minutes, we were in shopping heaven. The first shop that we checked out was Prada. Lovely, lovely Prada. I Asked for the Saffiano & Tessuto handbag but unfortunately, they no longer had it. Went to Louis Vuitton too but didn't find anything interesting except my last year's lust-for Insolite Murakami wallet. Still love the turquoise interior. Ack.

Then we went inside the mall proper... Ion. I love love and triple adore this mall. All the brands I loved were "housed" there. Alas, I decided that I didn't want to shop for myself. Just window-shop. I'm saving, I reminded myself. Dear sister joked me that she would only forgive me for not shopping along with them if I would buy a big-ticket item, such as a bag or a belt. Aherm. I said, nope. No temptations for me. Just looking.

We had lunch at 2pm, would you believe! True to form, I had Hainanese Chicken for lunch, while my Mom had a customized noodle soup. Sister, also true to form, got herself "Pork Asado" (sorry I didn't know what it was called there hehehehe). It was this moment when we got introduced to the Iced Kopi (iced coffee) and my oh my, we got really hooked. We promised to get ourselves those yummy iced Kopis tomorrow when we go to Vivo City. Anyways, it was also at this time that we decided to forego our planned Night Safari in favor of staying in the malls here at Orchard, nyahahahaha. I guess we really knew our priorities.

After lunch we checked out Sephora. I L-O-V-E this place. Oh my goodness there was a lot of goody stuff in this store. Can't believe we don't have this in Pinas, but I guess Beauty Bar and Essences will suffice. We spent considerable amount of time there before we made our purchases.

After Ion Orchard we zoomed in on going to the Balenciaga shop. prior to it though we passed by Hermes. Ack. There was a red and black reversible belt available. I was kinda chickening out (as usual) and said that I wanted orange and black so maybe we'd check out the airport store when we go home. Mom and sis groaned. Tehehehe. Ok, now to Balenciaga. I was very disappointed that they no longer had the Sang Giant City Bag, but only had the Moutard, Canard, Papeete, and other colors. They had Sang but in Perforated City. Didn't really like it that much. The Canard was a real beauty though, and for a second I was really tempted to get it. The Moutard was ok, but I was more into reds than yellows now. Sheeps, what a failed attempt. Oh well. Next season, maybe.

After, we went to Wisma Atria to check out Nine West and other stores. Well, the mall was just ok, something like Megamall. We preferred Ion Orchard hehehe, and promised that the day of our departure we would go back before finally heading to the airport.

My Mom and Sis got a couple of loots and they laughed at me for just getting a blouse in Mango. I said again that I wasn't interested in shopping galore so I was pretty much happy with my purchase.

We went home around 10:30 pm already and instead of having the Steamboat Seafood Buffet near Bugis Station, we just opted to eat in our room again - noodles, bread, and ham. We weren't really that hungry since we had a full late lunch.

Tomorrow's plan was to go to the Church at St. Andrews Cathedral (this will be a very interesting read hehehehe), check out the city's landmarks (Merlion, Raffles, City Hall, etc), eat lunch at Lau Pa Sat Festival Market, Chinatown, Vivo City.

Day 3 coming up soon!
