Nesting Part II

And here comes the time of every pregnancy when a mother is so fixated in preparing for the coming of the newborn. And I love it! Hahaha.

Just a few things:
  • Breastfeeding - I'm dead-set (yet again) in making sure that i will exclusively breastfeed my little baby boy. I had minimal success with Eanna, but right now, hopefully I am more equipped to ensure success. Cross fingers!
  • Rooming-in - the lactation counsellor told us that once the baby is born, he will be roomed in with me. Actually, the baby will be with me in the recovery room. Exclusive breastfeeding is strongly encouraged, given that bottle feeding is not allowed. I need to be more emotionally prepared for this, especially since hubby will not be here (yet again) when I give birhth.
  • Bottle feeding - got some Avent bottles and the manual pump to help me out. I've no plans in using formula, so if ever I do use these bottles, breast milk will still be served.
  • Cloth diapers - I got cloth diapers when Eanna was born but didn't get to use them. I blame it on severe post partum depression (and feeling of helplessness and loneliness) that I felt that it was such an inconvenience to use them. However, since I will be breastfeeding anyway, I will give this a try. Not to mention that in the long run, it is cost-effective AND Environment-friendly. Two of the most important things that I seriously take into consideration!
  • Lactation Center in the office - have asked our HR if we have one, and they said that they are setting it up and planning for it. Hopefully when i get back to work next year, there is already one!
  • Clothes - thank goodness, SM is carrying a line of organic baby clothes! I got a couple of clothes from Tiny Tots and St. Patrick's brands. Hopefully they are comfortable for my baby. :)

In this picture, my darling daughter is pretending to be a story teller to her "audience".

She first lined them up according to height, then sat down on her own sofa. Then she sang for them and "told" stories. it was fun watching her do that.

She also did this to her stuffed toys. brought them all out, lined them in the sofa, and danced in front of them. Nice!

Mommy Moments: Tantrums

It's the first time I'm joining moments and the latest topic is all about tantrums. Hmm, what can I share, aside from my observation that my 2-year old darling daughter has this liking on saying "No" to almost everything I tell her or ask her to do (bath, eat, dress up, drink, etc...)

Anyway, I am proud to say that my baby girl does not really throw major tantrums, and I am very grateful for that. However, she has this tendency to boss around and wants to get whatever she wants. Most of the time we "argue" about laptop use. She loves sitting on my lap while I surf through the Net. Most of the time she mimics me and tinkers with the keyboard, and that is when we "argue." She cries a bit but when I tell her to just use her own kiddie laptop (complete with mouse!), she gets contented with it... as long as she sits beside me too!

Oh, another tantrum moment is when we go to bookstores and she gets a lot of books. She heads to the counter as if she'd pay for them. Often times i get her something, but in those times that I don't, she cries... but not to the point that people will look and all. She easily forgets once I distract her attention. Hehehe.

So that's it!
