Saturday Fun at Mercato Central

Yesterday was quite a blast for us, since we started the day quite good and ended it even better. After a short swim of Eanna, we headed to Mercato Centrale to meet and have brunch with my girl friends. It's the first time for me in Mercato, and my expectations are quite high based on what I've read about it. Plus, this is where the Tweetup is happening, so it's a plus too to go there.

Anyways, this is me and the little girl at Mercato...
So many food to choose from, nakakaloka!

We ended up buying these for brunch:
Chicken wings from Manang's Chicken - YUMMY. I haven't tried the Bon Chon chicken and they said that this is even better. I liked it! Plus the price... 6 pcs for PhP 120. LOVE.

Paella Negra - this was ok, I like it too. I just find it a little too expensive at PhP 280, considering only 1 shrimp was added. Ok lang talaga.

Grilled Brazilian Rib Eye - this I was disappointed a bit. Or maybe it's because grilled steak is not suitable for brunch especially if you don't have the right utensils. I ended up piercing it with my plastic fork and biting from it as if it's a hotdog. Php 195.00.

There's so much that you can buy but I set my budget hehehe. I got these:
1. Mapple - Mango that looks like apple. I love love love these! My Dad used to bring these home whenever he goes to Davao. PhP 100/kilo

2. Schublig - 4 big pieces. Can't wait to try it. Php 210/ .5 kilo. Php 400/kilo

3. Organic Pork Chops - what we're having for lunch now! Organically grown/bred/fed. No antibiotics. PhP 200 / kilo. Chicken also available, same price.

4. Tiny Buds Talc-Free Powder - la lang. Just wanted to get it. Php 100.

Was disappointed because I was looking for these chile dips that I saw online (forgot the name, remembered the look), but didn't find them there (supposedly they're sold in Mercato).

Anyway, I'll probably go there again but this time with the hubby.

Truly enjoyed our stay there, though it was really hot! Eanna was complaining non-stop.

Eanna: Mama it's so hot here, open the aircon!
Me: Hon there's no aircon here.
Eanna: Sa mall may aircon...

NGI. She had to speak in Tagalog to make her point. She hardly speaks straight Tagalog. Well probably this was the first time. Hahaha.

Next up... a blog on us watching Rio the movie!

EDIT: finally remembered the chile dips... Chile Vitas!
