Date at Blackwood Bistro

The Hubby insisted that we go on a date this Valentine's, and of course I didn't have the heart to say no (and just stay indoors hehehe). Deep down however, I was really kilig hahaha because he really takes into heart the day of hearts (Cheezyyyy).

Anyway, we decided to have dinner at Blackwood Bistro in the Piazza at McKinley Hill. It took us a while to get a parking slot (super small parking area!) but we stil waited. And thank goodness we did, because the food was really delicious!!!

French Onion Soup

How ironic, I am "allergic" to onions but my favorite soup is the French Onion Soup. Blackwood Bistro's version was good, though I preferred that it had more Mozzarella cheese. Otherwise, yummy.

Freshly Shucked Oysters

We were supposed to get the Fresh Seafood platter but our waiter (Mario, who was very good by the way) told us that it might be too big for us. Maybe next time! Anyways, the oysters were yummy. Really fresh and sweet. Though there was cocktail sauce, I preferred my usual condiments: lemon and Tabasco.

Buffalo Crab Claws

This offering was VERY delicious. Love the heat of the sauce, the blue cheese sauce, and the freshness of the claws. It would have been better though if there were more celery sticks, hehehe. We would've ordered another one but we didn't want to get full for our main course...

350g Black Angus Rib Eye steak with Truffle fries and spring vegetables

Mario said the steak was big enough for both of us so he suggested that we split this instead. The teak must have been really good (I enjoyed it!) because my hubby, who is not really a steak lover (got sick and tired of eating them every week for more than a decade of sailing hahaha), loved it. His first words after his first bite "the steak is good." That's a compliment already hahaha. The steak was served with Truffle fries, salad, and French beans.

After our main course, I was really full, but the hubby really wanted to get dessert so we had this:

Chocolate for the Curious

Our dessert consisted of: Chocolate ice cream in a cream puff, Brownie with Whipped Cream, and Chocolate Creme Brulee. This dessert selection was the perfect ending to a perfect dinner. Well, near-perfect because the dessert took a while to come to the table, we almost cancelled it (we did actually but it came after so it was really meant for us to take hahaha). Seriously, both of us need colon cleanse sessions after this really rich dinner hahahaha.

Before we left for dinner though, we had to take a picture, hahaha!
