Not to mention ancient. hahaha. Kidding.
Anyway, my Aunt (actually, Grandma already since his husband is my Grandpa's brother) has sent me a text message asking for our little family's details (full names, birth dates, etc). I knew at once that she is in the process of updating our clan's family tree. As the Hidalgo family grows by the year, we really have to have our records updated.
I however wanted to take it a step further... why not research on our family's descendants? I know that there are a lot of genealogy search tools right now, but unfortunately I haven't come across one that caters to Filipinos. The US is quite lucky to have numerous ways in piecing together one's family tree, such as the Public Genealogy website. The last names database is huge I tell you, and it covers almost all states. The site is user-friendly and "neat" (I like simple websites).
What's good in our family though is that we have a reunion to catch up on everybody, who's "new", who's "out" (to put it lightly), etc. I guess for now we have to settle for this, but hopefully, my curiosity as to where we truly originated (and whoa re our really distant relatives... royalty perhaps nyahahahah kidding noh!) would one day be satiated.
